Kona Earth, family owned and operated, is a coffee farm located on the tropical slopes of the Hualalai volcano in the famous Kona coffee district on the Big Island of Hawaii. As an estate farm, Kona Earth coffee receives constant care, ensuring the highest possible quality. The high mountain "mauka" climate, combined with green farming practices, encourage lush, healthy Arabica trees. These produce gourmet coffee beans of remarkable size and flavor.
Kona Earth follows organic practices and our efficient processing techniques save water and energy. The beans are entirely handpicked, washed in rainwater, sun dried and pesticide-free. When ready for shipping, Kona Earth’s premium coffee is expertly roasted and sealed for maximum freshness. There's no need for a "Roasted Date" because our coffee never sits in a warehouse or on store shelves.

sethdietrich | Mon, 03/26/2012I have had 2 other Kona coffees from roast and would rate this one 3rd. Don't get me wrong, this is a good coffee, but in my opinion there are better options available.
GOOD CUP OF KONA (on 100% Kona Coffee - K...)
dowen44 | Sun, 01/01/2012So far, about half through the lb, this coffee has been good. It is quite smooth and the aftertaste is the classic kona, rich dark flavor with a little spice and fruit. The one thing i will say is that so far the coffee has been quite acidic/sour which is not off putting but it seems quite strong for Kona and covers up some of the taste at first. I will update if there is a change as the coffee is allowed to sit a little longer from the roast.

I picked this peaberry from Kona Earth, and was very disappointed. To be honest, I thought it would be better than my other coffee club that has peaberry from Tanzania freshly roasted and shipped. I make all my coffee from whole beans freshly ground before adding water using a french press. I drink my coffee black to get all the flavor of the bean without cream or sugar to get in the way. I do not recommend this to anyone that wants a good consistent cup. It was over roasted and over priced.

It really is different from any other coffee I've ever tasted in a way that's hard to describe. It's hearty and smooth and I'm sorry that we went through it so quickly! Really enjoyed this as a special occasion coffee and can't wait to celebrate with it some time in the future :)
