FLAT BLACK'S EAST TIMOR FTO COFFEE... (on Timor Organic Fair T...)
newrivergeorge | Sun, 06/03/2012This hard to find coffee, makes an excellent cup. Don't waste this as a morning "wake up" brew. This is a French Press Afternoon Delight. If you must have something solid with it, I suggest a high quality fruit turnover, or something light and fruity, not sweet. A complex flavor structure, is the most pleasing coffee I've encountered in nearly 20 years of trying single source coffees. Once a low priced coffee, the overthrow of an oppressive government helped the growers realize just what a Jewel they were growing. For several years, East Timor was -very- hard to find, but the new government has brought Fair Trade value and Organic practices to Timor's growers and their coffee is as good as ever. A heavy, well balanced cup, has light undertones of chocolate and citrus, with a very slight Earthy taste that is most pleasing to the palate, once you figure out how to brew it "just right". A step above Kona, I'd venture. Anything darker than Medium Roast, is a waste of taste! My 12oz French Press, makes it best. Hot & Fresh, each cup is "The Best".
SUMATRA MANDEHLING COFFEE (on Sumatra Mandehling C...)
Milganite | Sun, 03/18/2012This coffee is not roasted dark enough and is not overly flavorful.
A GOOD EXAMPLE OF TIMOR (on Timor Fair Trade Org...)
mattabraxas | Mon, 11/28/2011This Timor has a the rounded flavor that a lot of Timor beans lack. It has the slight sweetness with the cocoa tone. I use a French Press and drink it black.
FLAT BLACK ETHEOPIAN YIRACHEFFE (on Flat Black's Ethiopi...)
jaebari | Mon, 11/14/2011Nice deep flavor. No bitter aftertaste.
SULAWESI- NOT AS GOOD AS IT SHOULD ... (on Sulawesi Toraja Shad...)
Jazdup | Mon, 10/17/2011I found the acid to be a bit too tangy for me. The deep richness was not there. I don't think they roasted it enough. Mine was City Roast and should have been Full City. There was no oil or sheen of oil at all, which was my clue. It took 13 days from date of order to receive the coffee. Roaste did give me some eBeans to make up for the lack of service.
TIMOR , TWO THUMBS DOWN (on Timor Organic Fair T...)
Jazdup | Mon, 10/17/2011The following is the description from the company: "This intensely fulfilling, heavier bodied, earthy coffee is sweet and creamy with subtle notes of chocolate. The darker roasting method adds a spicy, bittersweet quality to this grand cup." I wonder if they rushed out my coffee. It was not a darker roast- perhaps City Roast. No heavy body. I didn't find any spicy or bittersweet attribute.. Earthy sounds like a phony term and I didn't find any sweetness or creaminess. I did taste the subtle chocolate. I used a conical burr grinder, filtered water- near boiling in a French Press, so the brewing method was OK. Intensely fullfilling sounds like a made up term however this coffee didn't fullfill any of my needs.
VERY NICE (on Flat Black's Ethiopi...)
kkliu | Wed, 10/12/2011Love the flavor with a hint of sweetness! :)
LOVE IT (on Sumatra Mandehling C...)
kkliu | Wed, 10/12/2011Sumatra Mandehling is one of my favorites. I use it both in slow brewing and in my Keurig. Love it!
I LIKED IT! (on Timor Organic Fair T...)
samumaiviti | Thu, 10/06/2011This makes for a good cup of coffee. I think it tastes best made with a French press. Noticeable chocolate tones upon smell a taste which does not disappoint.
GOOD FOR THE PRICE (on Guatemala Huehuetena...)
mattabraxas | Tue, 10/04/2011There are a few great Huehuetenango I've had. This one is a little over-roasted. The flavor is still good, and the price makes it all the better, but I wouldn't rate all Huehuetenango beans by this one.
ENJOYABLE COFFEE (on Flat Black's Ethiopi...)
furumachi951 | Fri, 09/16/2011Being a lover of great coffee, I really enjoyed the Ethiopian Yirgacheffe that I actually discovered from the "Wine Spectator". It contained yummy flavors and a smooth finish. A great way to start any day!

akaritavil | Thu, 05/26/2011From the second I opened the shipment the aroma of the coffee took me back to my vacation in Costa Rica where I first discovered Tarrazu Coffee. Light and smooth. I will definitely be purchasing this coffee again.

SMOOTH CUP OF COFFEE (on Mexican Oaxaca Coffe...)
drpaula24 | Fri, 04/29/2011Found a coffee that I can enjoy even without any sugar, although I still favor it tasting like coffee ice cream. Smooth coffee that's not too acidic and has a chocolate aftertaste. Excellent coffee!!
