Caffe D'arte
Caffé D'arte is a locally owned coffee roasting company located in Seattle. It was originally started by Mauro Cipolla after he moved to the Northwest from Italy in the 1970's.
Mauro missed Italian-roasted coffee’s aromas of history and culture that filled every room in every home and bar in Italy. So he returned to Italy to learn more about the craft of roasting and blending espresso. In 1985, Mauro started Caffé D'arte to introduce real traditional Italian espresso, blended and roasted coffee. Caffé D'arte blends are now recognized all over America and in many parts of the Far East.
In 1996, a competition in Seattle pitted Puget Sound's "micro roasters" against some of the nation’s top coffee roasters for a "blind tasting" at McCormick & Schmicks Seafood Restaurant. Participating roasters included: Austin Chase Coffee, Boyds Coffee, Caffé Passionate, Lighthouse Roaster, Pegasus Coffee, Seattle's Best Coffee, Scorbutus, Torrefying Italia and Tully's coffee.
Out of twelve awards, Caffé D'arte won five! The roaster was asked not to compete again but, instead, to judge in future tastings!

CAFE DE ARTE (on Italy…Via Seattle)
Son Ton | Son Ton | Tue, 01/24/2012I have heard a lot of good thing about Cafe De Arte coffee roaster. I'm anxious to try one of their blend of roast. But I need to fix my Nuova simonelli first!
ALMOST TOO DARK (on Nataliza Holiday Ble...)
intrepid510 | intrepid510 | Wed, 12/21/2011I am a big sucker for blends as seen here; http://www.roaste.com/CoffeeBlogs/intrepid510/Do-you-want-sucker-seasonal-blend However, this blend is almost a little too dark for me. Deffinately getting boarderline up there with Starbucks. However with that being said their are smoky spice to the coffee that makes it work really well with milk and sugar, it's just too bad I don't drink my coffee like this most of the time. Also, I was a little concerned it took so long to get to me, not nearly as fast as other roasters although the coffee was still very fresh! (Ordered the 10th got to me on the 19th)
I AM ANXIOUSLY WAITING SOME (on Italy…Via Seattle)
intrepid510 | intrepid510 | Wed, 12/07/2011I am anxiously waiting some coffee from Mr Espresso made in a similar fashion, am going to have to give your coffee's a try soon to see how similar they are.

BURNT TASTE (on Parioli Espresso Cof...)
bryce.troy | bryce.troy | Tue, 01/25/2011Both the Firenze and Parioli taste burnt to me. Too darkly roasted (ala CharBucks) for my taste.
TOO DARK FOR ME (on Firenze Coffee)
bryce.troy | bryce.troy | Tue, 01/25/2011Seems too darkly roasted for Northern Italian - tastes slightly burnt.
WONDERFULLY SMOOTH FOR A (on Capri Espresso Coffe...)
C3CafeGirl | C3CafeGirl | Wed, 01/12/2011Wonderfully smooth for a medium dark roast. Great aroma. I love it when you can have a cup of coffee with just a touch of breve and sweeteners are not needed. And it was fun educating my family on the differences between a well roasted coffee bean and a grocery store bought brand.
REALLY GOOD. I WOULD BUY IT (on Parioli Espresso Cof...)
jlmatthws | jlmatthws | Mon, 01/10/2011Really good. I would buy it again.

WONDERFUL COFFEE! (on Gourmet Drip Coffee ...)
bkharp | bkharp | Sun, 01/09/2011I did not get to write a review immediately because we were very involved with the birth of our first grandchild immediately after ordering my coffee. The coffee is delightful. It has a full bodied yet mellow flavor. One of the best coffees I have had in a very long time. Very flavorful with a bold flavor but none of that essence of "burnt" like so many bold coffees do.Took some to work and my coworkers also enjoyed it,from the first aroma as I made it to the last cup out of the pot.
CAFE DARTE GOURMET DRIP MEDIUM (on Gourmet Drip Coffee ...)
gwhawkrods | gwhawkrods | Fri, 12/31/2010Nicely balanced, non acidic, medium bodied with full flavor. The aroma is wonderful. I suspect the dark roast would be even more to my liking. This is the 9th roast I have tried from Cafe DArte, and all have been fabulous. I believe they are genetically incapable of roasting beans badly.
GREAT COFFEE (on Capri Espresso Coffe...)
jkirby7789 | Sun, 12/19/2010I was very pleased with this selection from Cafe D'arte. It had a lovely dark roasting to it which gave it a good strong flavor for a nice cup of coffee. Awesome shipping too :)
SMELLS LIKE HEAVEN (on Taormina Espresso Co...)
handsandhart | handsandhart | Tue, 12/14/2010The first thing I noticed when I opened this coffee was the smell was so strong and delicious. My husband walked into the room right after and said "smells like heaven!" I brewed this in my french press and didn't get to pour it right away and even with extra brewing time it was not bitter. Nice strong, rich flavor. I would definitely order this again.
GOOD ESPRESSO (on Taormina Espresso Co...)
Nuance Coffee and Tea | Nuance Coffee and Tea | Mon, 12/13/2010Dark, rich, flavorful. Everything you would expect from a good espresso.
FULL BODIED, FULL FLAVORED COFFEE (on Parioli Espresso Cof...)
EricBNC | EricBNC | Fri, 12/10/2010I like the packaging - sturdy foil with a proper date code, I am accustomed to seeing one way valves but it is missing from the packaging - not sure how much it matters though. The box smells like priority mail from heaven as the beans loudly announce their arrival to my nose. The beans are just on the dry side with only the beginning of a shine on their dark cocoa almost black shell. My grinder thanks you, Caffe D'arte. The first quarter pound goes by quick producing shot after shot of easy to dial in, tasty, espresso - the aroma is dark and thick while the taste is balanced, full bodied, and finishes with a dark bittersweet taste. The roaster describes their Parioli Espresso Blend as a Central Italian espresso which transports the coffee-lover to Italy’s region of Lazio with its medium, rich, winey and aromatic flavors. I agree. This one is good from a pour over, a press, and from the Aeropress as well. I can't think of a better way to start a cold winter morning than enjoying a shot or two followed by a cup and a travel mug of this versatile and full flavored coffee from Caffe D'arte.
CAFFE D'ARTE - PARIOLI ESPRESSO CO... (on Parioli Espresso Cof...)
Lisa | Lisa | Sat, 12/04/2010We thoroughly enjoyed this coffee. We came in after spending a couple of hours snow shoveling and almost floated into the kitchen on the incredible aroma. The coffee is strong and flavorful. Perfect to relax and warm up with. I would almost shovel every day if I knew I had this to look forward to! It is on my "must buy again" list.
I THOUGH IT WAS A GOOD ROBUST DECAF... (on Caffe D'arte Decaf E...)
Gross | Gross | Sat, 12/04/2010I would have to give it a five. I do not think I have had a better espresso.
VERY GOOD COFFEE (on Taormina Espresso Co...)
