True Beans Coffee Roasters
True Beans Coffee Roasters™, established in 2008, is one roaster who keeps the traditional ways of roasting. The popularity and availability of coffee in this day and age has created another “gold rush” for new inexperienced coffee roasters around the world. This mass appeal has generated a multi-billion dollar global industry and removed the art and passion that was so vital to the roasters of yesteryear.
True Beans Coffee Roasters™ is continuing the tradition of coffee roasting using only the world’s finest organic beans, hand-selected by our own Roast Master. Upholding our passion for the earth and its natural habitat, our beans are grown and roasted in a 100% environmentally friendly way.
From its Long Beach, CA location, True Beans has dedicated itself to supplying our local region with the world’s truest specialty coffee. Our philosophy is simple; extract the natural and true flavors of Mother Earth in a minimally invasive way.

A NICE BLEND (on Gold Mountain - Rain...)
kingfisha | kingfisha | Sun, 01/15/2012This is a good, general blend. It is smooth and has the classic coffee flavor that many look for in a hot brew (hints of chocolate and smooth).
A NICE COFFEE WITH BRIGHTNESS (on Nicaragua Wiwili Rio...)
kingfisha | kingfisha | Sat, 01/14/2012This coffee is a good Central American with a sweet, brightness on the tip of the tongue. Brown sugar and caramel tones come through and the coffee is quite smooth.
A MILD KENYAN (on Kenya Organic AA Plu...)
kingfisha | kingfisha | Sat, 01/07/2012This is a good coffee. It didn't have as much winey characteristics as I would expect from a Kenyan. Definitely worth the price.
WELL WORTH RECOMMENDING! (on Don's 100% Kona Gold)
EricBNC | EricBNC | Sat, 01/07/2012I ordered this coffee as a present for my brother who has a bit more experience with Kona coffee and Hawaiian coffee in general. He lived there for several years and ends up there often enough now. Though he likes a wide variety of coffee, 100% Kona is his go to coffee - their house hold favorite which is always on hand. My point in mentioning all this is to emphasize that the bar is set a bit higher with him than it is with me when it comes to determining good and very good Kona coffee.
In not much more than a week the bag of beans is gone, finished, all brewed and enjoyed. This is fast considering the normal rate his house hold consumes coffee. I take this and his praise for the taste to mean this one is well worth recommending!
TRUE BEANS CLASSIC ESPRESSO (on Classic Espresso - F...)
yeahyeah | yeahyeah | Fri, 01/06/2012Quality dark-chocolate comfort blend but not mind-blowing.
Packaging: Ships in a padded manila folder. Beans come in a standard 12 oz. sealed package with a one way valve.
Aroma: I smelled brown sugar when grinding which was a first for me. Smells like dark chocolate when pulled.
Visual: Standard reddish-brown crema.
Taste: Initially bittersweet to dark chocolate. Just enough acidity to balance the chocolate. More and more fruity sweetness toward the end of the shot. I tried to taste some of the brown sugar that I smelled when grinding but no luck so far.
Body: Nice syrupy mouthfeel.
Aftertaste: Very sweet and cherry-like at first. Becomes nutty a few minutes after finishing.
Process: Prepared as espresso using a Gaggia Classic and a Baratza Vario. ~70% brew ratio.
Delivery: Received the order 4 business days after ordering. No roast date on the bag but it is clear that the beans were roasted very recently.
PRETTY GOOD (on Nicaragua Wiwili Rio...)
writeturn | writeturn | Fri, 12/02/2011A bit green tasting and a bit thin on flavor and body, but otherwise a nice coffee, very drinkable, with lgood acidity and balance. I like light roasts, and this is a true light roast. Would rate if higher if the flavor were a bit richer.
STARTS WONDERFULLY (on Gold Mountain - Rain...)
mattabraxas | mattabraxas | Thu, 11/10/2011I loved this one at first: slight cocoa, very smooth. I brewed this in a French Press only. After a week on the shelf though, the acidity got stronger and it overpowered the nice subtle flavors. So, I'd say drink it within a week or you might see the same changes I did.
PARADISE (on Don's 100% Kona Gold)
10spro | 10spro | Tue, 11/08/2011Little slice of paradise from island life. Would drink all the time if my budget would allow.
SWEET MORNINGS (on Pacific Sunrise - Ra...)

A DEPENDABLE BLEND (on True Blend - Rainfor...)
golux | golux | Sun, 11/06/2011This is a nice, well-balanced blend. Relatively soft with a woody finish, nicely complex and very drinkable.
SOFT & SATISFYING (on Nicaragua Wiwili Rio...)
golux | golux | Fri, 10/28/2011This makes a wonderfully comforting cup: soft, smooth, with a hint of sweetness. I get citrus flavors at first, followed by a rich chocolate finish. Excellent.
SMOOTH AND FLAVORFUL (on El Salvador Monterey...)
golux | golux | Fri, 10/28/2011Brewed by Chemex for an excellent cup: very smooth, with just a touch of bitterness and a slightly nutty finish.
GOOD BARGAIN ETHIOPIAN COFFEE (on Ethiopia Harrar - Fa...)
redbecca | redbecca | Mon, 10/24/2011This coffee has that tell-tale fruity quality of Ethiopian coffee, but for whatever reason the taste is not as strong or rich as some other Ethiopian coffees that I've had.
ETHIOPIA HARRAR, TRUE BEANS COFFEE (on Ethiopia Harrar - Fa...)
golux | golux | Sun, 10/23/2011This a very nice coffee: very flavorful with a good amount of bitterness in the back of the palate, but well-balanced n general. It tastes somewhat dry to me, which is interesting. Although I have been brewing it in a chemex, I think its bright flavors would make for a superb cold brew iced coffee.
BOLD, BUT NOT OVERPOWERING (on Bold Safari - Fair T...)
Angela Mills | Angela Mills | Sat, 10/15/2011I wondered if this coffee would be too bold for my taste, but when I added the protien drink that I usually do, it was just right. Some weaker coffees don't taste as much like coffee when I add my protien beverage to it, but this was good.
BOLD SAFARI ORGANIC COFFEE BLEND (on Bold Safari - Fair T...)
berkman471 | Tue, 09/13/2011A delicious break from the norm. Smooth and silky, I recommend this for all coffee lovers.
ETHIOPIA HARRAR FAIR TRADE ORGANC (on Ethiopia Harrar - Fa...)
berkman471 | Tue, 09/13/2011This coffee has been truly making that first cup in the morning something to get excited about again. This coffe is smooth and delicious, I would recommend it for any time of the day.

ETHIOPIA HARRAR - JUST LIKE 5 YEARS... (on Ethiopia Harrar - Fa...)
dmelton_92626 | dmelton_92626 | Mon, 07/25/2011This coffee fits my palate perfectly. I tried this 5 years ago when Starbucks had limited edition coffees. It has great structure and boldness with amazing blueberry notes that leave a smile on my face. I was incredibly happy to find that ROASTe carried this varietal and will be coming back for more! To top it all off this is Fair Trade AND Organic. Not my focus, but definite bonuses.
JUST OKAY (on Nicaragua Wiwili Rio...)
laura5 | laura5 | Tue, 07/05/2011Nothing especially good or bad about this coffee. Not exactly a standout, but then sometimes all you need is a cuppa joe.
