jmerrihew | jmerrihew | Sun, 10/16/2011I wasn't expecting so much coffee to a pound, and I certainly didn't expect the Supremo to be just that: Supreme. I like a full bodied rich coffee and this hits the spot. I had pretty much switched to tea until, on a whim I decided to try this. Am I ever convinced that I'm back enjoying coffee. Up to now, it's been Peets and Starbucks. They didn't quite made the 5 star. It's such a pleasure to set my coffee maker and wake up to the aroma of real coffee in the a.m. It really makes me want to get up at 6 a.m.! No exaggeration. Jen

lebohl | lebohl | Tue, 10/04/2011This was our first experience with Roaste.com and I have to admit, we were extremely pleased. We absolutely loved Spectacled Bear and drank through it faster than usual. If I get too involved with paperwork, my coffee often cools down and the flavor changes or tends to get a little bitter tasting. Not so with spectacled bear - it held its flavor. Can't wait to try other varieties!
SOLID, BUT LIGHTER COLOMBIAN COFFEE (on Mahogany Roasters Sp...)
Noone | Noone | Wed, 09/28/2011A very smooth, medium to medium-light Colombian roast. I do prefer mine a bit bolder and darker. However, like other offerings from Mahogany Roasters, this was very smooth, with no bitterness even after cooling. Aromas were nice, but not spectacular. I may not have gotten the coffee/water ratio exactly correct, but this is still a solid effort from Mahogany.

whitebenja | Wed, 09/28/2011I ordered an espresso grind. It was way to powdery to use in an espresso machine - kept clogging the machine up! Ended up having to use it in a french press which was more like mud. I was hoping this was going to be the beginning of a beautiful relaitonship. Not. --B

peggyryu | Thu, 09/15/2011I THOUGHT THAT THIS COFFEE WOULD BE ROASTED TO A DEEP, GLOSSY BLACK. IT WAS NOT. IT LACKS THE DARK ROAST BITTER COFFEE TASTE THAT ONE WANTS IN AN ESPRESSO ROAST. I AM TRULY DISAPPOINTED.

dscavo | dscavo | Sat, 09/03/2011The label showed the beans as recently roasted, but the beans seemed very dry (not rich in aroma or oily at all). I used the entire bag, but in my opinion Starbuck's Sumatra had much better flavorand at 1/2 the cost. As this was my first order from Roaste, delivery was great but the coffee left me unimpressed.

shellei | shellei | Mon, 08/01/2011I'll admit that I chose this for the name. Also that I don't drink coffee as if it were wine, so I didn't taste chocolate or citrus or anything not coffee. But it smelled wonderful and ground evenly; is dark enough to satisfy me. It arrived on the 20th and the bags were all labeled as being roasted on the 18th, I like that a great deal.

OH MY GOODNESS, it wasn't bitter at all, it was strong, full bodied, not too acidic, smooth and delicious! It even tasted like chocolate. I always laugh when people say they detect notes of "apple, or chocolate" when they taste coffee or wine...but this one...I could totally taste it...it was AWESOME. One quick note, we have a Keurig with a refillable pod thingy and we ordered Esspresso grind, thinking that we would get the most flavor from that grind...however, the problem,. the water couldn't go thru. So, don't order it that fine if you are planning to use it in a drip or keurig. :-)

EricBNC | EricBNC | Sun, 06/12/2011Easy espresso to work with - my machine doesn't have a high level of control over variables but the shots pulled fine with a nice chocolate middle and finish coming through. Great price for a pound of beans that went pretty quick. Love the durable packaging and roast date is marked clearly - this is my third bag from Mahogany Roasters and so far all are tasty!
