Full thick creme and very easy for a novice like myself to pull a shot that most coffee shops in my area would be jealous of.

Amber G | Amber G | Sun, 01/08/2012When I drink this I am reminded of good quality Earl Grey tea. That isn't necessarily all bad, I love a good Earl Grey; but it isn't what I want from a coffee. The sip is thin on my palette (too watery) although some complex flavors emerge. GIve this 3 mugs because some people might adore this brew, but it isn't for me.

Amber G | Amber G | Sun, 01/08/2012This cup really fits the Coffee Labs description, "velvety smooth, slight earth and spice, well balanced with toasty dark chocolate notes." The base doesn't taste as "earthy" as some roasts but it does live up to the expectation of a full-bodied sip with a warm, toasty spice deliciousness that resonates. Leaves a mellow, happy feeling with no after-taste. My husband who prefers Central American coffees, rates this a 10 of 10 on his scale. We have more to try from Roaste, but I believe this Brazilian Daterra Sunrise coffee is one of our new favorites!

A little sugar brought out a natural rich sweetness and flavor. Enjoyed it very much. I have had SHG beans from other Nicaraguan roasters and have traveled extensively in Nicaragua so I can say this was excellent but I have had even better! Thus a very respectable 4/5.

vthedirector | vthedirector | Thu, 07/07/2011Myself and my boyfriend are HUG coffee drinkers. We drink about 3-5 pots from our 4 cup french press every day. I love HOT coffee and he loves ICED coffee. We have tried a few different types of coffee blends before we came across CoffeeLabs French Roast. WE LOVE IT! It is one of the first coffees that works great hot or cold. My boyfriend doesn't have to give up a bold round favor and I don't have to be overtaken with a thinker kinda coffee used to withstand the ice. This blend has the perfect amount of bite that all coffees need, that leaves you with a creamy rich after taste of just the best coffee you may ever have. At least we seem to think so. SO long starbucks, hello CoffeeLabs.

broseph | broseph | Tue, 04/26/2011I wish Roaste would once again stock these, as that would make them accessible to a larger audience. This is a great way to make coffee. Clean-up is simple and the final result has a lovely balance between flavor clarity and body. The large hole and the ridges allow water to drain off quickly, which means that a slow, measured pour is required. So while a little TLC is required here, the quality of the brew can be truly delicious.

xprzzo | xprzzo | Tue, 04/19/2011as with most of the 'choclaty' blends I have tried lately, it seems to be roasted too dark - full city plus, maybe even a tad beyond that... though it is advertised as a medium roast. You still get a hint of the potential, but it is overshadowed by the roast profile. What I received was no match for Dolce from Vivace (though I have received kind of a dark batch from them the last time) or the offering from Ecco.... I will try them again at some point just to make sure the dark roast was not a one-off....
