Captain's Coffee Brewers
A unique coffee company constantly concocting cold and hot brews for the enjoyment of everyone. It began with a sip of terrible muddy water that the Army deemed "Coffee" and sprouted a movement of coffee perfection. Now the fruits of our labors are yours to enjoy.
We offer unique coffees and blends roasted here in Massachusetts in fair trade, organic, and direct trade varieties. We also enjoy cold brewing many of the coffees we attain and are proud to ship 22oz two packs to your door. Pour over ice and enjoy!
THIS ROASTER SHIPS ONLY ON FRIDAY'S

SUBTLE (on Smoked Applewood Col...)
jbviau | Mon, 12/19/2011I like it! The smoke and apple notes are present but relegated to the background. "Smooth" is right. Looking forward to pairing this with other less subtle flavors (e.g. bacon syrup), though it does just fine on its own.
MINE (on What was your first ...)
samuellaw178 | Sun, 12/11/2011Mine was a strong poweful ristretto in a third wave cafe. I was lucky in that sense I guess. Otherwise, I might have not started drinking good coffee ever.
WELL FIRST TIME ENJOYING (on What was your first ...)
intrepid510 | Thu, 12/08/2011Well first time enjoying coffee has to be at my grandmother's house dunking walnut cookies in instand folgers, it sure tasted good!
FIRST (on What was your first ...)
yeahyeah | Thu, 12/08/2011I think that my first cup was from Denny's. It tasted fine with enough cream and sugar but I only wanted to try coffee for an energy boost at that time.
ON A TRIP TO THE BEACH (on What was your first ...)
Wakeknot | Thu, 12/08/2011my family was traveling to the beach and my father was drinking coffee in the front seat. I was probably 6 or 7. He passed it back when I asked if I could have a sip. I loved it, probably just because I knew kids weren't supposed to like it. I waited 15 years for my next sip though.
COFFEE AND CHICORY (on What was your first ...)
EricBNC | Thu, 12/08/2011Coffee and chicory came early for me thanks to my Grandfather - also I remember my mother letting take sips of her coffee when I was very young.
I WAS JUST THINKING ABOUT THIS... (on What was your first ...)
Chamie | Thu, 12/08/2011My first taste of coffee was coffee in my cornflakes -- my grandmother used to do that when there was just enough milk for her coffee. She'd pour out half her cup into my bowl. The coffee that sparked my love affair with coffee though, was an Ethiopian Yrgacheffe made in a press pot at a little shop in Worcester, MA called Coffee Kingdom. Yrgacheffe is still my favorite regional coffee.
THE FIRST TIME (on What was your first ...)
jbviau | Thu, 12/08/2011I'm not 100% sure, but mine was probably hyper-sweet Cuban coffee in Miami shared out by a coworker in little plastic cups. Zing!
THANKS (on Irish Captain)
samuellaw178 | Sun, 11/27/2011Thanks for sharing this recipe. It definitely sounds like a very delicious combination!
DELICIOUS (on Irish Captain)
broseph | Sat, 11/26/2011delicious
SOUNDS GOOD (on Irish Captain)
Wakeknot | Sat, 11/26/2011I love the idea of the "brewing laboratory" aka kitchen! I may have to rename my kitchen.
SOUNDS DELICIOUS (on Irish Captain)
yeahyeah | Sat, 11/26/2011This sounds delicious. I don't normally drink iced coffee or cold brew, but I always assumed it would go great with Irish Cream. The homemade recipe looks good too.
THANKS FOR THIS! (on Irish Captain)
Son Ton | Sat, 11/26/2011thank you for the recipe, will sure to try this this holiday.
OH! (on Irish Captain)
jbviau | Sat, 11/26/2011Never thought about making my own Irish cream--thanks for the tip. Aside @Chamie: the Captain's 2-pack is a great deal, I find (especially if you have Prime). When I ran out, I missed having their cold brew around, so I ordered more.
SOUNDS GREAT CAN'T BEAT THAT (on Irish Captain)
intrepid510 | Sat, 11/26/2011Sounds great can't beat that winning combination!
YUM! (on Irish Captain)
Chamie | Sat, 11/26/2011This does sound delightful. I wonder how it would taste with a shot of Drambuie or Galleano... I'm tempted to buy a 2-pack just to try them both. @EricBNC -- chocolate lava cake, still warm from the oven, or crispy ginger snap cookies served with freshly whipped cream
GREAT RECIPE (on Irish Captain)
EricBNC | Sat, 11/26/2011This sounds like a nice beverage - very Irish with the ingredients. What food pairing would you recommend with this drink?
GOOD STUFF (on Traditional Cold Bre...)
jbviau | Sat, 11/12/2011Mild and chock-full of milk chocolate notes--I like it!
GOOD STUFF (on Cold Brewed Variety ...)
jbviau | Sat, 11/12/2011I can vouch for the unflavored regular variety. It's mild and chock-full of milk chocolate notes--yum!
GOOD STUFF (on Traditional Cold Bre...)
jbviau | Sat, 11/12/2011Mild and chock-full of milk chocolate notes--I like it! If you're not paying for shipping (thanks to Prime, for example), I find this 2-pack (weighing 4 pounds boxed) to be a steal. There's no roast/package date indicated, but who cares?! Also, here's a pic of the packaging (minus some peanuts): http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj72/jbviau/photo1-20.jpg
