Scott Lush | Tue, 01/31/2012Tastes like smokey truffle butter -- it's that rich, bold, smooth and full-bodied. Both as drip coffee (in an Aeropress) and in an espresso machine it was fantastic. It has all richness and boldness of a dark-roasted Sumatran without the jungle fungus flavor that is often there in Sumatrans. In other words, it's rich and bold with a very pleasant smokiness. I'd say if you wish Starbucks didn't have bitterness or ashiness and was richer, this is an ideal coffee.

dubbie98 | Sat, 12/17/2011Normally I wouldn't bother with a blend; but it is hard not to reorder more of this very special blend o' beans. I originally got it for the name, "Mad Russian"; which I love. As I was told by several Russian friends that they didn't drink coffee at all while in the US. because it was so rare at home. What a "Mad Russian" that'd make me. Later I find them in photos wearing "I <3 Coffee" t-shirts and giggle to myself. A truly sublime cup of morning drip coffee. Starts off with slight cinnamonesque flavor, then comes the chocolate flavor, and whoosh it's a wall of wonderful and exotic flavor waiting to be swallowed. And so it goes. I hereby Highly and heartily recommend this blend especially if you've gotta wake up in the morning.
