It is less acidic than other coffee we've had and doesn't give my husband heartburn after he drinks it. Blue Horse Kona will definitely become a regular coffee in our home.

NOT VERY ROBUST FOR A DARK ROAST (on Blue Horse Kona: Dar...)
Maupinman | Maupinman | Thu, 08/11/2011Smooth but much less robust than I expected. I ended up using about 50% more beans per cup than with other typicial high-end beans that I've used. Maybe I expected to much from a "dark roast" when I really wanted a "French roast".

I prefer the Dark Roast for myself, because I like the hearty coffee flavor in the morning, but for guests who prefer a more mellow cup, the Blue Horse Kona Medium Roast is perfect. My son says that of all the coffees I've served him, the medium roast tastes like coffee smells...which is quite a compliment coming from him. We love Blue Horse Kona!

For someone who likes a dark cup of coffee, this coffee makes the grade in that it satisfies my desire for coffee that TASTES like coffee, yet doesn't taste bitter or acidic. This is as good as the best cup of Kona I had in Hawaii and I will be ordering it again. I should also say that it arrived very quickly...excellent customer service!

It arrived on Friday (in time!). My grandmother was very pleased. She says she opened the envelope to the wonderful smell of coffee. She had been there a long time ago and as she drank it she said it brought back wonderful memories. Thanks to Blue Horse for getting the coffee not only on time but for making my grandmother happy!!

Jamie | Jamie | Sat, 05/08/2010My tongue was struck with a wonderfulness just from the first sip. The first thing I notice is the woody note which is the most well known note in the coffee. Behind that is a nice bitter-sweetness. There is a woody like aftertaste that lingers around for an all around really great coffee.
