ASCASO OFFERS A LOT OF GREAT (on Ascaso I-1 Espresso ...)

    intrepid510 | intrepid510 | Tue, 02/07/2012

Ascaso offers a lot of great entry level grinders, this flat burr grinder is going to offer a little softer espresso flavor. Being able to directly dose into the portafilter is also a convenient feature, but can be a little messy. Also have to really like the great styling of this grinder.

    ROCK (on Ascaso i-Steel I-1 E...)

    intrepid510 | intrepid510 | Tue, 02/07/2012

A great home grinder, and I will echo what the other reviewers have said about this. It's built very well, but it loud and the grinding is a little slower compared to other grinders. But at the end of the day it grinds well for espresso, offers infinite adjustment and is built well.

Son Ton | Son Ton | Sat, 02/04/2012

The Vibiemme is a really solid E61 type of espresso machine that should provide to be a very reliable machine and make excellent espresso to boot. It is very attractive as well with the full stainless steel body. The price is also very good for what you get!

A GREAT LEVER (on Elektra Micro Casa S...)

    avaserfi | avaserfi | Tue, 01/31/2012

The Micro Casa is a gorgeous lever machine that has a bit of a learning curve, but can put out a wonderful shot. I've had the pleasure to work on one numerous times and as with all levers it takes some work to get the technique down, but once you do it is a pleasure. My biggest problem with most levers is the small portafilter limiting dosing to around 14 grams. I tend to prefer a higher dose.

    Wakeknot | Wakeknot | Sat, 01/21/2012

this is a good grinder in its price range. it is better than the much cheaper grinders (but can't keep up with the much more expensive commercial grinders).

YOU ARE THE WEAKEST LINK. (on Elektra ART.T1 Sixti...)

    intrepid510 | intrepid510 | Fri, 01/20/2012

This is one of the top of the line machines that you can buy and it comes with the requirement that you plumb it in. This is good since you never have to worry about running out of water or your drip tray over flowing, but at the same time does require the additional expense. That being said these machine produce espresso that you and the grinder are going to be the only limits, not the machine!

DOUBLE SUPER (on Vibiemme Double Domo...)

    intrepid510 | intrepid510 | Wed, 01/18/2012

Honestly it appears this machine has it all. First of all it has all the features you would expect to have from a machine at this price point, double boilers, a PID (for adjusting brew temp), E61 brew head (allows for a forgiving espresso pull) and a rotary pump. However, there are some things that I believe make it stand out first the OPV goes down all the way into the drip tray, doesnt sound a like a big deal, but if you look at a Quickmill it doesn't go down as far thus water sprays all over your machines. Next up, plumb or not doesnt matter because you can do either other machines out there require you to do so or make you pick this one you can have it both ways. Oh and lets forget no anti-burn steam wands, they cut down on steaming power why would you want that?

VERY NICE (on Ascaso I-1D Espresso...)

    EricBNC | EricBNC | Sat, 12/31/2011

The Ascaso I-1D Espresso Grinder is similar to the Ascaso I-1 except this model includes a doser to dispense the coffee - same nice flat disc burrs and stepless adjustment as the doserless model though.

PRETTY (on Ascaso I-2 Espresso ...)

    EricBNC | EricBNC | Sat, 12/31/2011

This Ascaso I-2 Espresso Grinder is the same model as the Ascaso I-2D except this stepless conical burr grinder will empty grounds right in your portafilter - same pretty red color too but many other colors are available.

WORTH A LOOK (on Ascaso Steel Uno 'Sp...)

    Wakeknot | Wakeknot | Sat, 12/31/2011

this machine is one to really look hard at in this price category. I really like the idea of a machine with a three way making backflushing easier and ensuring no "portafilter sneezes."

    COMPACT (on Ascaso I-2D Espresso...)

    EricBNC | EricBNC | Sat, 12/31/2011

The Ascaso I-2D Espresso Grinder with doser is about as inexpensive as it gets for a conical burr grinder available with stepless adjustment for infinite grind settings - the red color helps the make the appearance nice too.

    DURABLE (on Ascaso i-Steel I-1 E...)

    EricBNC | EricBNC | Sat, 12/31/2011

The Ascaso I-1 Espresso Grinder is a ruggedly built unit that is perfect for someone looking to take the quality of their espresso to the next level - nice flat burrs and a good motor for the price but these can be a little noisy - hard to beat the durable case though.

    STURDY (on Ascaso i-Steel I-2 E...)

    EricBNC | EricBNC | Sat, 12/31/2011

This Ascaso i-Steel I-2 Espresso Grinder features a decent set of 38mm conical burrs that resemble the older set Baratza used in the Virtuoso - most grinders with this burr set are capable of making decent grounds for espresso - tough looking grinder too.

The Ascaso I-1 Espresso Grinder model is a great starter unit for someone looking to take the quality of their espresso to the next level - nice burrs and motors for the price but these can be a little noisy and more expensive grinders are a bit faster too.
