CAFIZA (on Cafiza 20 OZ Bottle)

    dpablo19 | Thu, 05/03/2012

This is probably the best known coffee detergent out there. It is perfect for backflushing your espresso machine. I use it every week and it really clears out the crusted-on coffee oils and solids. You can see in the backflush water.

WORKS WELL FOR ESPRESSO (on Cafiza 20 OZ Bottle)

    intrepid510 | Sun, 02/26/2012

Works well for espresso machine back flushing but also removing also from stainless steel think thermos carafes that soap doesn't touch.

WORKS WELL (on Cafiza 20 OZ Bottle)

    avaserfi | Sat, 01/28/2012

I cafiza once a week to backflush my machines. Daily, I backflush with water. While I don't have too much residue, the cafiza cuts through coffee oils better than anything else I've tried. Well worth keeping around.

    DESCALE (on Dezcal Espresso Mach...)

    samuellaw178 | Sat, 12/24/2011

Definitely get one of these and descale frequently if your area has hard water. Scale build-up will cause espresso machine to fail prematurely, similar to most other kitchen appliances.

GOOD CLEANER (on Cafiza 20 OZ Bottle)

    samuellaw178 | Sat, 12/24/2011

Make sure you clean your espresso machine with these every once a while to get the best result from your espresso machine. Built up gunks and coffee oils will ruin your coffee.

THIS STUFF WORKS WELL, YOU (on Dezcal Espresso Mach...)

    intrepid510 | Thu, 11/10/2011

This stuff works well, you can use it on your drip machines as well and make those stainless steel carafes bright again. Just fyi this is one 7 oz bag, so while cheaper than the 4 x 1 oz bags you can get on Amazon you have to do the measuring yourself. Thus the minus one cup.

SCOOPZ BRUSH (on Urnex Scoopz Espress...)

    dpablo19 | Mon, 09/05/2011

I used to use the Pallo brush but I find that the brush tips on this hold up against the heat of an espresso machine's group head better. The Pallo tips melted. These were also slightly softer which allowed me to reach greater spaces within the grouphead.

CLEANCAF (on Cleancaf Descaler 3 ...)

    dpablo19 | Mon, 09/05/2011

I use this for backflushing my machine. It is basically baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) with a couple of other ingredients. It does a good job removing coffee oil and solids from the grouphead to the three way solenoid in my espresso machine. Coffee ends up tasting a lot better, especially in the finish because there is no burnt coffee lingering over the portafilter. I have not used this for descaling because it is cheaper to use citric acid from a brew shop.

A DECENT CHOICE (on Urnex Scoopz Espress...)

    jbviau | Tue, 06/28/2011

Not bad, but I like the Pallo Coffeetool brush a bit better. For instance, my Pallo has an integrated metal needle for cleaning milk residue out of the little hole in the steam wand, and it's cheaper by a few bucks.

WORKS WELL BUT.. (on Cleancaf Descaler 3 ...)

    speedstar | Tue, 06/28/2011

This works well but you can use citric acid with the same results for a lower cost. I started with this years ago and then learned about citric acid as an alternative on CG.

DOES WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO (on Cafiza 20 OZ Bottle ...)

    speedstar | Tue, 06/28/2011

Not much to say. It is a needed and sometimes overlooked part of the process for some. I use this every few weeks to keep my machine in clean condition. Shots taste much better from a clean machine.

EASY AND EFFECTIVE (on Urnex Grindz Cleaner)

    speedstar | Tue, 06/28/2011

I love Grindz. I use this on all of my grinders once a month or so. Gives great easy results. Just make sure to run a sacrifice shot through afterwards to get rid of the small amount of residual taste from the Grindz.

CAFIZA (on Cafiza 20 OZ Bottle)

    broseph | Tue, 06/07/2011

This was originally designed to clean cloth filters--it performs that job admirably. Can also remove coffee stains and gunk from all manner of material, and also works well with non-coffee tasks.
