steveck | Fri, 03/09/2012While pod coffee is not my perfered brew style, it has its place. With the senseo you can have a single cup quick, with no hassel, and it is quite tasty. I perfer the creamy head this gives over the k cup machines. However, this baby can't replace my esspresso machine, and it can't handle large volumes (drip wins here). Reasonably priced, and resonable durability. Unfortuantly the heater elment in mine stopped working after about 3 years, but my friends had theirs for about 5 with out any issues. At this price point I wasn't too upset about the failure; and i was able to repurpose the pump for other hobbies.

GmanJenks | Thu, 01/19/2012Not a bad breakfast blend, it is hard to keep them fresh as they aren't individually wrapped. There are other from City Steam, Baronet or Reunion Island that represent better value in my mind.

EricBNC | Sun, 10/09/2011I like the original Senseo but it can be finicky with odd shaped pods. Understandably it works great with Senseo pods and other 7g pods. The double pod holder does a nice job with larger 12g pods but the 9 - 10g size does not fit tight enough to give as good an extraction as the 12g in the double pod holder. Unfortunately this common size is too big for the single holder. If not for this size/compatibility issue I would give it a 5 cups rating.
I do like the temps and the froth layer from this machine too.

GmanJenks | Sun, 09/18/2011I have both this machine and the Bunn MCH, this one is now in the closet gathering dust and the Bunn gets used everyday. The pulse brew on the Bunn helps brew a much stronger cup.

jbviau | Mon, 08/22/2011This machine can make a good cup, especially if you feed it good pods. Senseos are easy to find gently/barely used on craigslist and in thrift stores. At this price, maybe go with a Bunn My Cafe Home instead since it's not much of a step up in price.

EricBNC | Mon, 08/15/2011This review is written with the help of my wife who is the resident decaf expert. These passed her taste test so it likely will please the decaf lover in your house too. These have a decent taste but are not as flavorful to me as the Senseo Medium or the Senseo Dark pods. The aroma is mild yet pleasing and the cup is medium bright but with less acidity than the regular medium roast coffee - unfortunately this taste compromise is played out with most decaf coffee but still this is a decent coffee for the style. Be aware that these (as well as other brands of bagged pods) will stale faster than the individually packaged pods once the bag is open unless the user takes the the short step of placing the open package into a zip lock bag to preserve freshness. Another caveat - these are 7g pods designed to produce a 4.5 fl oz European size cup - for a mug full you will need to brew two of these.
