Rocket's Giotto: The rebirth of an Italian classic!
In the late 1970’s Friedrich Berenbruch and Ennio Berti attempted a coffee revolution by forming ECM (Espresso Company Milano) and developing the world’s first commercial quality domestic espresso machine - the Giotto. It quickly became the finest domestic machine to grace kitchens of the world.
In 2007 in Milan, ECM decided to concentrate on their commercial espresso machine range. The domestic machine range, the classic Giotto and Cellini machines, get a new lease on life. Jeff Kennedy, an entrepreneurial pioneer of New Zealand’s espresso revolution, took up the challenge to revive the Giotto brand. Jeff, with Andrew Meo and Daniele Berenbruch, son of Friedrich, resumed production of the classic Giotto machine.
Giotto - a new classic is reborn from the founders of Rocket Espresso specifically designed for today’s most exacting espresso customer.

GREAT!! (on Rocket Giotto Evoluz...)
samuellaw178 | Fri, 03/09/2012I have the predecessor of this machine, which is the ECM Giotto. It's very similar to Giotto, except with more nice touches such the better swivel arm, rotary pump, sirai pressurestat, double gauge. And the E61 group is a legend! It pulls superbly rich body shots and the taste is noticably sweeter. The only complain I have with this rocket giotto is probably the price. It's on the high side and I would probably get a double boiler so I don't have to flush so much water. Otherwise, it's really perfect and very forgiving!
ROCKET (on Rocket Cellini Premi...)
EricBNC | Tue, 12/27/2011This premium espresso machine pulls out all the stops with pre-infusion, E-61 group head temp stability, no burn steam wand and commercial grade components inside and out to create a no compromise espresso machine for the discriminating espresso afficianado - likely the last machine you will need to buy.
GIOTTO (on Rocket Giotto Evoluz...)

ROCKET ROCKS! (on Rocket Cellini Evolu...)
FZ1 | Wed, 04/27/2011Started with a Silvia, then upgraded to a QM Anita, then upgraded to the Rocket. Awesome machine! All the extra niceties (commercial steam arm valves, no burn wand, rotary pump, drip tray with plug if draining direct if desired) all make the machine an absolute joy to work with. Much more steaming power than either of the other two machines. Well worth the extra money if you can afford it.
PRE-ROCKET GIOTTO (on Rocket Giotto Premiu...)
rodewa | Tue, 04/26/2011I've had my ECM Giotto for about 10 years with very few problems and thousands of great shots of espresso. Steams milk beautifully as well. I've found it quite easy to maintain, and since I figured out how to keep the water-tank sensor from thinking the tank was empty when it wasn't (by moving the water tank slightly) I've been very happy. Several years ago the gauge stopped reading properly but I descaled the machine and it's been fine ever since. I keep it on a timer so by the time I stumble to the kitchen in the morning, it's ready for me. Also quite easy to get the pressure dialed in (I had to adjust it after moving to a higher altitude). I did recently have the hot water tap stop working (seems to be the valve and not a scale issue) but I only used it to drain the boiler when I descaled, so now I just siphon the water out. I think it's actually easier (and presumably easier on the pump, too) than draining it using the hot water tap. I will replace the valve at some point, but it's obviously not a priority. I can't give it five beans since I have had a couple of small problems, but for the price, and compared to other machines in that price range, I can't imagine there's much better out there.
AWESOME ROCKET!! (on Rocket Cellini Premi...)
