GOOD COFFEE, SLIGHTLY AWKWARD DESIG... (on Mr. Coffee ISTX95 Pr...)
amandy | Sun, 03/11/2012It makes good coffee. It looks good. It stays hot. It's kind of awkward to fill with water. If I didn't make 100% sure to close everything properly, the coffee would brew onto the counter instead of into the carafe. It happened a lot - I'm usually a bit groggy when I'm making coffee, you know? Since most of the problem for me was user error (and maybe a little bit design error), I'm giving it four out of five. But the truth is, I did take it back.
GREAT LOOK, MAKES OKAY OR GOOD COFF... (on Mr. Coffee ISTX95 Pr...)
lajh804 | Fri, 03/09/2012I love the look of this Mr. Coffee machine. I always get compliments on it. I had an older model that lasted me 5 years and randomly stopped brewing. I bought a new one because I liked how my old one made my coffee. I love the sleek look of the new model, but am having difficulty finding how to make a good pot of coffee. While my other machine gave me consistently good coffee all the time, now I'm always afraid for how my coffee will turn out. So, price and look are great. Quality might not be consistent.
MY VERY FIRST GRINDER (on Mr. Coffee IDS55 Bla...)
Lisa | Fri, 03/09/2012The Mr. Coffee grinder was the first grinder that I ever received (it was a birthday gift) along with a pound of coffee beans. I remember the first time using it. The beans were ground nicely and the first pot made tasted so good. There is nothing like the sound of a grinder in the morning in anticipation of that first cup of coffee. I have a different grinder now but I still use this one for grinding spices for cooking. The spices are ground evenly and quickly.
SAVE YOUR MONEY! (on Mr. Coffee IDS55 Bla...)
Son Ton | Thu, 01/12/2012Although a blade grinder is a good first step in enjoying fine freshly roasted coffee and certainly is much better than pre-grinding coffees, most people will want to eventually upgrade to a more capable grinder. My advice is to stay away from blade grinder. If you want a cheap and capable grinder, please consider a hand grinder such as the Hario Mini Mill!
BETTER THAN PREGROUND (on Mr. Coffee IDS55 Bla...)
intrepid510 | Thu, 01/12/2012For a minimal cost you can have fresh ground coffee that is much better than anything preground. Since ground coffee is so small it stales quickly. The problem with these grinders is they dont make a very uniform grind, and you need to pulse it for a few seconds stop then pulse again until you get the desired consistency to make your grounds as uniform as possible.
GOOD BLADE GRINDER (on Mr. Coffee IDS55 Bla...)
thinkphipps | Sat, 12/31/2011A fine grinder. The only thing better would be a burr grinder.
BLADE UHMM.. (on Mr. Coffee IDS55 Bla...)
samuellaw178 | Sun, 12/25/2011This is a blade grinder which will pulverize your fresh good coffee beans into powders and chunks. This is not a very desirable thing especially if you are expecting the best from your expensive beans. It cant give you consistent size everytime also. Get a burr grinder unless you absolutely cannot spend more than $20
BLADE GRINDER (on Mr. Coffee IDS59 Bla...)
samuellaw178 | Sat, 12/24/2011I am not against blade grinder but I really think that it's better to have a burr grinder for getting the most out of your coffee. It would be equally bad to have fresh coffee ground by blade grinder that is so inconsistent.
CHEAP (on Mr. Coffee IDS55 Bla...)
EricBNC | Wed, 12/07/2011These will grind whole beans - I used one for years and got better than pre-ground results but better flavor awaits if you can stretch the budget a bit further.
MR. COFFEE IDS59 BLADE COFFEE GRIND... (on Mr. Coffee IDS59 Bla...)
mantis5 | Wed, 11/30/2011This basic grinder really does the job quick and it's easy to clean. Five cups!
PLENTY OF FEATURES (on Mr. Coffee ISTX95 Pr...)
EricBNC | Sun, 10/23/2011Not the cheapest Mr Coffee but it has plenty of features and a thermal carafe - wont break like glass if it gets accidentally dropped.
MORE FEATURES (on Mr. Coffee VBX23 12-...)
EricBNC | Sun, 10/23/2011Simple, inexpensive, but it will make a pot of coffee. These are hard to kill but easy to replace if you do - this model has programmable features if you need them.
OK BLADE GRINDER FOR FILTER DRIP (on Mr. Coffee IDS59 Bla...)
EricBNC | Sun, 10/23/2011OK Blade grinder for filter drip - simple, hard, to break, and lets you use fresh beans for your filtered coffee without breaking the bank.
INEXPENSIVE BUT EFFECTIVE (on Mr. Coffee VB13 12-C...)
EricBNC | Sun, 10/23/2011Simple, inexpensive, but it will make a pot of coffee. These are hard to kill too.
VB13 (on Mr. Coffee VB13 12-C...)
dpablo19 | Tue, 09/27/2011One of the first automated brewing devices I ever used. My model was the precursor to this one and was a bit more boxy. The internals were pretty much the same, though. It produced some really exaggerated coffee, and in a bad way. It was either too thick and burnt tasting, or thin and sour. I did an internal analysis and found the brew temps to be all over the place. There's much better, and even easier, brew methods out there.
MR. COFFEE COFFEE MAKER (on Mr. Coffee ISS13 12-...)
tbalkow | Thu, 06/30/2011This is an excellent coffee maker. It makes coffee quick for on the go. Its easy to clean as well. I would recommend it to anyone who is in a hurry to have their cup of java quickly. Thanks.
4 CUP MR COFFEE VERSION-SUPER! (on Mr. Coffee ISS13 12-...)
grerob5 | Wed, 06/29/2011I actually have a four cup version and it has all the things I need!! Timer, for that early morning coffee fix! Shut off valve so I can steal a cup even when coffee is still brewing. Auto shut off- in case I leave it on. It wasn't expensive, but makes really good coffee and I am very satisfied with it!
I SAW YOUR WEB SITE AND (on Mr. Coffee ISTX95 Pr...)
sugarman25 | Mon, 05/10/2010I saw your web site and thought ,why not give it a try. Living here in Southern Idaho I will be the first to admit that we don,t always have the best access to all the great products that are out there but with the internet the world is literally at our fingertips. I ordered the Mr. Coffee programmable coffee maker after looking at all the different models available and remembering the great Mr. Coffee products we have had in the past and what a disappointment this beauty has turned out to be. Worked great the first two days and then started making the best pot of coffee you ever tasted but putting it all over the Kitchen counter. Works great if you will stand and hold down on the button that vents the cap so the coffee will run into the carafe but my mornings won't allow me to do that, and don't forget the clock and timer quit working after three days. If it wouldn't cost more to box it back up and send it back than what I paid for it this wonderful appliance would be back in the U.P.S. truck now. Bad product , leave this one in town. Sign me " Thanks but I'll cook on a camp fire in Idaho".
