EYE CANDY (on Francis X7 Duo POD E...)
samuellaw178 | Fri, 12/30/2011Francis machines are lookers but for the price, you could get much better espresso machines. If you need something that looks good, this is the one for you, or you could look at La PAvoni Europicola etc. This uses ESE pod so you need to invest in the pods to get your coffee. Could be good(convenient) and bad(not as good as fresh coffee).

A TERRIBLE F&F X7 EXPERIENCE JAN 20... (on Francis X7 Duo POD E...)
toddwmac | Fri, 02/04/2011Update: 2/4/11 While we had an unfortunate experience with a defective machine, I wanted to focus this update on the GREAT customer experience we had with the RoastE team, From a company founder to Tim in customer service, these guys were prompt, helpful and sincere. We have no hesitation doing business with them again in the future. Todd M - Seattle Original Review: We've enjoyed F&F machines for years. While they were all European models, we assumed our new American model would be just as capable. How wrong we were. The machine arrived in fair cosmetic condition and looked almost used. Based on the internal docs, it was manufactured in 2009 so maybe the current versions are higher quality. The included coffee pods had expired a year ago. The main problems is related to terrible leaking and inconsistent water temp. The unit leaks around the pod holder until you really tighten the handle (more than my wife can do) and then it leaks from above the attachment point of the holder. It streams from the base of the boiler section, around all sides of the attachement point. Of the 20 cups (the instructions say things will improve after 20 cups) we've not had a shot without water every where. We've not talked to RoastE and expect they will take care of us [They did - see update at start of review] but use caution with any X7 POD machines. The last F&F machine we had included a completely differnet handle and pod fitting. It was purpose made for a pod to fit tightly against the water output. My Italian wife said that she had similar water problems begore they sent her the pod specific handle. That unit had a slightly different head design than the current units and this may be the source of the problem. They new head design seems still flawed.
