ESSSE CAFFE', roasted by the famous Mr. Segafredo, is a delight to every espresso coffee lover and found in 5-star, white tablecloth restaurants. Now, this coffee with the three BIG SSS, is available to you at home.
Why three Ss? The question dates back to 1979 when ESSSE CAFFE' was first sold and when its success story started. The extra "S" states that the company’s concept, philosophy and logic is totally based on Scienza (Science), Sapienza (Knowledge) and Specializzazione (Specialisation) in the field of espresso coffee.
Even before starting production and sales of coffee, ESSSE CAFFE' Ltd. (once P.A.C.S. of F. Segafredo & C. Ltd.) integrated the company’s previous experience and tradition as a family-run business under the original owners with competent scientific research in collaboration with the Institute of Food Technology at the Faculty of Agriculture of Bologna University.

The Esse selezione speciale is the latest order to arrive. The crema and mouth fell are very nice with the Esse. However, the taste just does not match the refined smoothness and character of the Trombetta and the Kimbo. I still think it is a better option than anything else found at the grocery store or roasted locally due to my affection for the Italian style of espresso. Rancilio Rocky & Silvia (PID)

It is simply the most balanced espresso out there for the money. I own a Rancilio Silvia / Rocky combo and this coffee is perfect in the machine. 4 clicks up from the finest grind and the coffee turns out perfect every time. The crema is dense enough to float two demitasse scoops of sugar on top until it SLOWLY descends into the cup. Perfect! Try it out and see.

I don't consider myself a connoisseur, so I was surprised that the fruity notes really came out for me the first time I tried this. I have never really noticed the "fruitiness" of a coffee before, and I found this interesting and different in a good way. Upon several other tastings, chocolate flavors came through. I tried to rate these beans for what they are, and not necessarily based on what I personally prefer. If you love "strong" coffee, this may not be for you, but it is a nice mild and smooth coffee for those who love medium roasts. The beautiful vibrant red packaging also makes this a nice hostess gift.

Lisa | Lisa | Tue, 04/20/2010My father and I tried this coffee tonight. The smell was heavenly and we could not wait until the brewing was done. It is a strong, smooth, full bodied coffee. My father normally puts cream in his but enjoyed the flavor so much that he drank it black. I did put a little sugar in mine but it only enhanced the flavor. This is a coffee that stands up for itself! Drink some of this coffee, put on some of your favorite music and forget your worries (if only for a little bit).
