A GREAT LEVER (on Elektra Micro Casa S...)
avaserfi | avaserfi | Tue, 01/31/2012The Micro Casa is a gorgeous lever machine that has a bit of a learning curve, but can put out a wonderful shot. I've had the pleasure to work on one numerous times and as with all levers it takes some work to get the technique down, but once you do it is a pleasure. My biggest problem with most levers is the small portafilter limiting dosing to around 14 grams. I tend to prefer a higher dose.
YOU ARE THE WEAKEST LINK. (on Elektra ART.T1 Sixti...)
intrepid510 | intrepid510 | Fri, 01/20/2012This is one of the top of the line machines that you can buy and it comes with the requirement that you plumb it in. This is good since you never have to worry about running out of water or your drip tray over flowing, but at the same time does require the additional expense. That being said these machine produce espresso that you and the grinder are going to be the only limits, not the machine!
A VERY CAPABLE ESPRESSO MACHINE! (on Elektra Micro Casa S...)
Son Ton | Son Ton | Sat, 12/31/2011The Elektra Micro Casa is a very capable spring powered lever espresso machine and like other have said is great for exploring the world of single origin coffee. It is also a very functional peice of art sure to garner praises from visitor. However, there are limitations, for instance it can not realistically serve a big crowd.
RESPECTABLE LEVER! (on Elektra Micro Casa S...)
samuellaw178 | samuellaw178 | Fri, 12/30/2011This is a spring-powered lever espresso machine. This means there is no noisy pump when brewing espresso, only the serene spring at work. Also, Elektra lever was respected and given the nickname "clarity queen" because the shots she makes have distinct clear nuances that are more easily picked up. It is also an eye candy on the counter. The only downside is probably she's good at making 2-3 shots before the group get overheated, meaning too hot for brewing espresso.
TOP ESPRESSO MACHINE (on Elektra ART.T1 Sixti...)
samuellaw178 | samuellaw178 | Thu, 12/29/2011This machine is a high-requirement/maintenance machine, ie plumb in, 20 amp, high heat up time etc. But if you're able to meet those requirements, you're almost guaranteed a lifetime of espresso/latte heaven. Hint:pair it with a good grinder with fresh beans. Because of its large boiler, you can cater to a big group of people with little fuss. This is a machine that is intended to be left on whole day also due to the long heat-up time. So it's great if you are drinking espresso throughout the day! And it's one of the best looking machine I've seen.
A GREAT MACHINE (on Elektra ART.T1 Sixti...)
Wakeknot | Wakeknot | Thu, 12/29/2011I picked this up from Roaste and love it! It makes great espresso even though I'm still just getting to know it and it has by far the best steam of any machine I've ever owned. Add in commercial build and good looks and I think it should be on your short list if you are looking in this price list. (I'd certainly pick it again).
EXPENSIVE (on Elektra MSC Espresso...)
samuellaw178 | samuellaw178 | Sun, 12/25/2011It's kinda expensive for a 58 mm flat burr grinder. For the price, you're paying almost 50% just for the bling bling factor. Unless you find the design very attractive and irresistable, you could probably get its cousin like Pasquini Moka90 / Anfim Best for less money. As for the performance, it will definitely do okay for espresso, with decent adjustment settings.
TOTALLY WORTH IT (on Espresso Cups with E...)
jbviau | jbviau | Tue, 12/20/2011[insert sarcasm emoticon here] I do like the blue accents though.
SWEET (on Espresso Cups with E...)
EricBNC | EricBNC | Tue, 12/20/2011What a nice looking cup! These would be perfect to use with an Electra espresso machine and grinder - they would be nice next to any quality espresso machine and grinder too.
VERY NICE (on Carry Case for Elekt...)
EricBNC | EricBNC | Tue, 12/20/2011I like the concept of designer luggage for the espresso machine toting traveler - these are nice machines and the case keeps them looking good while on the go.
WHY SO EXPENSIVE? (on Cappuccino Cups with...)
jbviau | jbviau | Tue, 11/15/2011Imagine if they said Speedster on them?
SERIOUSLY? (on Carry Case for Elekt...)
jbviau | jbviau | Tue, 11/15/2011That's not a "carry case"--it's a chest! Who travels with an Elektra? ;)
GREAT CUPS (on Espresso Cups with E...)
Wakeknot | Wakeknot | Mon, 10/31/2011a set to wish for.
WELL BUILT (on Carry Case for Elekt...)
Wakeknot | Wakeknot | Tue, 09/27/2011obviously it isn't cheap, but it is well made - another product I wish I had.
GREAT CUPS (on Cappuccino Cups with...)
Wakeknot | Wakeknot | Tue, 09/27/2011I've used them before and love them, I wish I had a set.
GOOD FOR A POD MACHINE (on Elektra Nivola Espre...)
Wakeknot | Wakeknot | Tue, 09/27/2011good looks and beats a fully automatic machine, but there are better semiautomatic machines if you are willing to learn to pull shots with a good grinder and no pods.
GREAT LEVER (on Elektra Micro Casa S...)
Wakeknot | Wakeknot | Tue, 09/27/2011This is a great lever machine. The brass scratches too easily, but the espresso and looks are amazing.
GOOD LOOKS (on Elektra Nivola POD E...)
Wakeknot | Wakeknot | Tue, 09/27/2011okay for a pod machine, but you can do better with a semi-automatic and a great grinder (not better with an automatic though)
GREAT MACHINE (on Elektra Micro Casa S...)
Wakeknot | Wakeknot | Tue, 09/27/2011The chrome version does not scratch as easily, but some like the looks of this one better. It is hard to find a better machine for espresso for the price though than either of these.
AMAZING MACHINE (on Elektra Micro Casa S...)
Wakeknot | Wakeknot | Fri, 09/23/2011This is a great espresso machine which offers forgiveness and at the same time control. For detailed glowing reviews look at coffeegeek.com and home-barista.com.
