For his award-winning espresso, Pete Licata of Honolulu Coffee Co. worked with two farms on the Big Island: Rusty's Hawaiian in Ka'u and Kona Coffee & Tea in Wai'ono Meadows. With the guidance of roaster R. Miguel Meza at Rusty's Hawaiian, Pete harvested, processed and roasted his competition coffee.

Pete and Miguel crafted this reproduction of the prized espresso with beans from the two partner farms. It brings forth flavors of chocolate, candied citrus, caramel, brown sugar, and ginger.
