Legend has it that the renowned Aztec leader, Montezuma, drank a strong elixir of chocolate and chile peppers before his daily visits to the royal harem of 500 women. And he was not alone in his appreciation of the power of hot peppers; they were coveted by early Egyptians, Greeks, Romans and Arabs. Today, our love for spicy foods has made heat just as enticing as sweet. The union of coffee and chocolate, lightly accented with the zest of habanero chile, is a perfect blend of flavor and stimulation. Have it early and often to jumpstart the morning and energize your day!

Natural Flavors: Chocolate and Habanero Chile

87 points from CoffeeReview.com

"(Whole-bean coffee flavored with natural chocolate and habanero chile extracts on an alcohol base) The flavorings seem discreet and resonate well with the coffee, particularly in the quietly deep aroma. The chocolate reads as the semisweet kind with a dry walnut character; the chile is felt more than tasted, particularly in the warm, gently tingly finish."

Delicious essence of dark chocolate added to this coffee. It's not overpowering. It's even a little difficult to detect the chocolate taste. I It's sort of adult. It's not the taste of a mug of hot chocolate. It's more like a very mild chocolate aroma and flavor that infuse the whole coffee. This is a good fun coffee for a change from the single origins we taste at ROASTe. Good fun tasting perky coffee without any chemically taste or an overpowering flavor of chocolate.

  • GOOD SOLID COFFEE BUT THE FLAVOR ISN'T DISTINCT

I will say from the outset I was excited about this coffee since I have a love of spice, chocolate, and coffee combined.
Unfortunately the chili is far too subtle and is almost an afterthought and the chocolate I could barely smell or taste.
The coffee itself is excellent both taste and quality as far as coffee goes but I was disappointed in the lack of essence I was hoping for in ordering this.
Perhaps they need to add some more flavoring in the roasting process to get it right?
