Description

Roastmaster Comments by Aaron A. Meza: A raw, unabashed interpretation of a classic coffee that shines its beauty best in a manual drip brew. In the aromatics, find hints of brown sugar, rosemary, dates, chocolate, and celeriac. Upon taking your first sip, you’ll immediately notice a delicate acidity that mellows into roasted hazelnuts, dark chocolate, cinnamon, and maple syrup. As the cup cools, there’s a fine Assam tea with lemon. Overall, sweet, floral, and fruity, reminiscent of shisha.

As usual, Paradise Roasters was the best as far as processing the order. Three days from order date to delivery in North Carolina ain't bad! The beans had a nice perfume in the bag, but I expected more from a Yemen brew. Maybe it could have been roasted a little darker, or maybe I'll have to play with the brewing method. I'm willing to take some of the blame for a 3-bean rating. It was definitely fruity, and overall an acceptable cup, but I've tasted better for the price.

The light roast and light crema (I drank this as an espresso) had me expecting the high acidity. But I was in for a nice surprise by the rich chocolaty taste of this cup. Medium body, a bit earthy. Delicious!
