The flavor of honey stands out of a mesquite background in this bold, sweetly earthy coffee. Like a sweeter Lake Tawar, the Sumatra - Blue Bata's heavy body coats the mouth, leaving a long pleasing aftertaste.

This is a LIGHT roast - so it will taste mild. It does not have the bold overpowering punch that some gourmet drinkers expect in their coffee.

Sumatra - Blue Batak derives its name from the indigenous tribe which havests this coffee - the Batak tribe. Despite being one of the oldest producing regions of coffee in the world, Sumatran coffees are quite difficult to handle. Sumatra provides a great environment for growing coffee but an extremely problematic environment for post-harvest handling. The constant rain and humidity make producing clean, defect-free coffee a seemingly insurmountable challenge The environment, varietals, processing method, and supply chain are extremely unique.

  • NOT THE BEST

Ok so I was excited to try this one, made the first pot and was not impressed. The flavor is flat, dull and lifeless.
I figure ok, maybe I can get a better brew out of my french press, WRONG, not even slightly better, in fact it was worse.
This is the first coffee in a long time that I have purchased that I have not enjoyed.
Maybe I got a bad batch...who knows but I am not willing to try another round.
