Paradise's Espresso Nuevo is a bold, full-bodied, and ultra-smooth, critically-acclaimed coffee. Classic and chic, Espresso Nuevo is a Central Italian-type espresso blend designed for the American cafe. Each cup boasts a sweet aroma of brown sugar and aromatic wood. Full-bodied and smooth with a mild, pleasing acidity, complex notes of sweet spices, Maraschino cherries, lemon zest, and vanilla carry from cup to its lingering finish. Darker roasted than our Espresso Classico, Espresso Nuevo is excellent in milk drinks as it has the power to punch through milk rather nicely. Best in cappuccinos as the milk creates additional dimensions of flavor and character.

"Sweet aroma combining notes of nut, aromatic wood, and molasses. In the small cup, full body, thick, syrupy mouthfeel, and a complex range of flavors including toast, nut and concentrated fruitiness suggesting raisins and dried cherries. Intense bittersweet chocolate in the finish. The flavor notes persist in two parts milk, sweetening and broadening, turning toward creamy caramel and milk chocolate."

GREAT DARK ROASTED COFFEE
samuellaw178 | Tue, 01/31/2012 - 12:11This coffee is a little on the dark roast style but not burnt at all. I too wouldn't say it compares similarly to Redbird. Red Bird in my experience is a much sweeter nutty caramel, without any bitterness. While Nuevo is very chocolatey shot with a hint of bitterness finish, with creamy body and decent complexity I would say it's a very decent choice for dark roast coffee if that's your style. In milk drink, it stands out very well and I wouldn't have hesitation ordering it again. But with it, I would prefer milk drink than straight shots.
THIS COFFEE BLEW
XCV | Sun, 01/29/2012 - 04:51mostly burnt tobacco and heavy smoke like a campfire
some chocolate notes
the guy who compared this to RedBird is without palate.
Suffered through 5lbs of this.
EXCELLENT
intrepid510 | Thu, 12/29/2011 - 00:20Excellent blend, I think this compares very much to Red Bird Espresso, lots of chocolate with a lot cherry and other dark stone fruit, really love it!
SMOOTH
123scy | Tue, 12/20/2011 - 10:57I'm unable to give it a 5 due to the limitations of my machine, not the coffee. When I get the LaPavoni Pro up and running, this will likely go to a 5. Very nice, smooth espresso, no trace of harshness, excellent crema.
A GREAT ESPRESSO
Wakeknot | Fri, 11/18/2011 - 20:57this is one of my favorite dark roasts. I am usually a lighter roast guy, but Paradise is great.
ESPRESSO NUEVO
paul.nibber | Tue, 10/25/2011 - 11:31These beans were not the 'dark' roast I had expected. There was no carbony taste to the espresso and yet it kept a lot of citrus and floral type notes. This blend far exceeded my expectations and I look forward to ordering it again.
WE'RE NOVICE ESPRESSO MAKERS
hanna | Tue, 10/18/2011 - 10:19We're novice espresso makers in our house but this makes a really good macchiato. We'll probably buy it again sometime soon.
THIS IS A GREAT BLEND FOR
Karrde | Mon, 10/24/2011 - 11:51This is a great blend for milk based drinks, I am definitely a fan. You can check out my more detailed review here: http://www.roaste.com/CoffeeBlogs/Karrde/What-Im-Drinking-Paradise-Roast...
PRETTY GOOD
mlmckain | Fri, 10/14/2011 - 16:56This coffee has a good taste, not bitter, and reasonably well balanced. I still prefer Mr. Espresso Viennese blend however.
ESPRESSO NUEVO
dpablo19 | Tue, 09/27/2011 - 01:24I really didn't know what to expect with this blend. Thankfully, after opening the package, the beans weren't the oily mess I've come to associate with darker roasts. In fact, there weren't even any ashy/smokey notes in the cup. As a triple ristretto and at a somewhat lower brew temp, approximately 198 degrees, these beans shined. I highly recommend this blend provided you have the equipment and experience to bring out all of their potential.
MEDIUM-BODIED, FULL FLAVOR, VERY, VERY SMOOTH
Noone | Mon, 09/19/2011 - 19:36The flavor is bold, but not overpowering - more medium than heavy bodied. Rich flavor, but with slightly sweat, almost nutty nuance to it and brighter fruit flavors than I would expect. The finish is also very clean. Let it rest for 30 minutes and there was no bitterness at all after it cooled down. A good morning coffee, but if you like your coffee more full-bodied, with a little more kick (in a good way), I would look elsewhere. Otherwise can't complain, just oh so smooth!
SPOT ON! THESE BEANS DELIVERED, EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED.
homerepairbear | Sat, 09/17/2011 - 22:41I try a lot of coffees, and generally buy 3 pounds at a time to make the shipping cost less painful. I'd read the reviews and decided to try the Nuevo and Classico. I was down to my last few grams of beans when my shipment arrived and immediately froze 3 of the 4 bags ordered. Bonus points for free shipping on my order. Greatly appreciated!
The first shot I pulled was 5 days post roast and without any adjustment to grind or temperature, the results were great. Love it when that happens. I'm a latte drinker mostly and my double was very tasty with whole milk. I got dried cherries to start with a lemon/citrus/cereal middle note, and a mellow chocolate finish. Distinct flavors through and through.
I am a Northern Italian roast fan and freaked a little when I saw "dark roast" on the label. These beans are a little darker than most Northern Italian roasts, hence the Central Italian callout, but not oily, and have a hint of dark roast aroma, but the flavor is all about the beans. I'll buy these beans again. Greatly looking forward to trying the Classico.
ESSPRESSO NUEVO
homeyra01 | Wed, 09/14/2011 - 09:33fantastic flavor, just right for my lattes.
SWEET AND SMOOTH
delaroast | Sun, 09/11/2011 - 20:12Very sweet and smooth as espresso. I enjoyed it with milk but the flavor tends to get lost in the milk. 2 other people I served mentioned the same thing. I would buy again though.
GREAT FLAVOR, AWESOME AROMA
IanJF92 | Sun, 09/04/2011 - 19:25What a great coffee. Great, rich flavor and aroma. A sweet and roasty aroma that is especially good in a french press. Can't make your coffee any better. Will definitely buy some more soon.
WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH
rob-jody | Tue, 08/09/2011 - 13:44Was very disappointed with this coffee. After reading the reviews I thought it would be very good. Sadly with the discount offered I bought 2 bags...
A GOOD VALUE
djsenatore | Tue, 08/09/2011 - 09:05I finally received my shipment after a shipping mishap. I have a looong way to go when it comes to cupping and critiquing espresso so with that being said, I give this a solid thumbs up. I had just descaled and backflushed my Vivaldi Mini II and did a thorough cleaning of my M4 grinder and this is the first espresso to go through the equipment. It's taken me some time to dial in the grind adjustment but over the course of that process I have to say the shots have maintained a fairly consistent flavor. It gives a rich crema. Haven't tried it in milk based drink yet but I am looking forward to an affogato this afternoon...
PARADISE ESPRESSO NUEVO
pgreene | Sat, 08/06/2011 - 21:25Got a couple of very thick shots of this. I taste a variety of fruit flavors but more as subtle flavors to search for in the background versus anything bright or fruit juicy, the coffee arrived very quickly (2 days post-roast) normally I like to give beans a long rest which for me, generally brings out sweetness - I've still got a half bag of this, wondering if the fruit will come to the fore with a longer sit. It was more similar to Havana than I would have guessed, but good and interesting in its own way.
THIS WORKED WELL FOR ME.
jdbruce | Mon, 07/19/2010 - 17:01Very easy to pull a shot, seemed all the shots went well. Don't know if the coffee gods were with me, or the coffee was just that easy.
GOOD IN MILK DRINKS
sjotime22 | Sun, 05/23/2010 - 20:00While this roast is satisfactory as a stand-alone espresso shot, I found it to really shine in lattes and cappuccino's. The milk in no way overpowers the flavors of the shot.
GOOD
aaron | Thu, 05/20/2010 - 08:17Good body with medium brightness, but is lacking in sweetness - slightly herbal flavor profile.
PARADISE ESPRESSO NUEVO
pabstd | Mon, 05/03/2010 - 05:55Found it a bit lighter than I expected after the description. A little too bright for my taste.
SOLID BLEND
jacksonball | Sat, 05/01/2010 - 13:23Medium Body with a Floral and Citrusy taste folled by a light milk chocolate/caramel finish. Works well as a straight shot and stands up well against milk. Brewed @ ~200*. 19g. 1.25oz shot.
UPPERCRUST & CLASSY
undotcoms-shop | Tue, 04/13/2010 - 23:02As other reviewers have described, Nuevo is a delicious blend and Paradise deserves a shout for their hard work in perfecting the roast (woo hoo from a native Minnesotan - good job Paradise!)
As lattes are my typical drink, I quickly discovered a glassy smooth, well-balanced taste that was easy as a Sunday morning. This is the drink for sipping and relaxing, or maybe introducing your friends to an espresso shot. Flavors of chocolate, caramel, and subtle spice mix together with no apparent bitterness or acidity.
I have to hold back one star (4 out of 5) as the roast is almost too balanced. I found myself wanting something a bit more complex after just 3-4 days and growing anxious to move on by the end of the bag. But this is definitely the blend for that next weekend get-together at my house.
GREAT MINNESOTA ROASTER.
cpgoody | Sun, 04/04/2010 - 22:11Great Minnesota roaster. Perfect crema and nice and sweet shots. Highly recommended.
THIS IS PRETTY GOOD BLEND OF
jlmatthws | Wed, 03/31/2010 - 09:39This is pretty good blend of coffee for my taste. I was expecting a little more and that is why I only gave it a four. It is worth trying for yourself.
A STAND ALONE. RICH, COMPLEX
cleebeauregard | Thu, 03/18/2010 - 14:11A stand alone. Rich, complex opening with slightly greater acidity that I'm used to in an espresso roast. Medium body, with nice crema volume. Pepper and wine afternotes that linger. Nice alternative to more "traditional" Northern Italian style espressos. Stands up well to milk.
PARADISE ESPRESSO NUEVO
sflange | Thu, 02/18/2010 - 01:40Excellent choice of coffee. Well bended.
WELL BALANCED, VERY GOOD CUP OF COFFEE
Allison | Sat, 08/08/2009 - 03:58This dark roasted blend has a very balanced taste. The crema is thick and nice, the aroma is very good, and the taste is rich with a touch of chocolate flavor.
I had it both in espresso and cappuccino, and the taste stays consistent. When having a double shot cappuccino, the strong and balanced tastes just double the pleasure ...
