The choice of Kona coffee experts everywhere, Kona Earth's Medium Roast has that delicate fruit flavor so iconic in a great Kona coffee. Roasted a little beyond the first crackle, the chocolaty-brown beans are covered with very little oil. The medium roast is perfect to bring out the unique characteristics of Kona coffee.
Estate Grown 100% Kona Coffee
"Estate grown" means our coffee is nurtured by us from beginning to end to ensure the best possible quality. "100%" means our coffee is always pure Kona coffee, it is never mixed with lower grade coffees such as Kona Blend. Growing and producing high quality Kona coffee is our top priority.
Ground vs Whole Bean
At this time all our coffee is sold as whole beans. Whole beans retain their freshness much longer than ground coffee and is ideal for anyone with a grinder. Let us know if you would prefer pre-ground coffee.
Finalist in Gevalia's 2008 & 2010 Kona Coffee Cupping Competition.

GOOD CUP OF KONA
dowen44 | Sun, 01/01/2012 - 14:03So far, about half through the lb, this coffee has been good. It is quite smooth and the aftertaste is the classic kona, rich dark flavor with a little spice and fruit. The one thing i will say is that so far the coffee has been quite acidic/sour which is not off putting but it seems quite strong for Kona and covers up some of the taste at first. I will update if there is a change as the coffee is allowed to sit a little longer from the roast.
VERY GOOD 100% KONA
spartytx1994 | Tue, 12/27/2011 - 16:35I get coffee from another coffee club, and got a Christmas gift card for ROASTe, so I thought I would try it. I picked this medium roast from Kona Earth, and was happy with it. To be honest, I thought it would be better than my other coffee club that is 100% Kona and freshly roasted and shipped. I don't think it was any better, but the $30.00 for one pound is a better price.
I make all my coffee from whole beans freshly ground before adding water using a french press. I drink my coffee black to get all the flavor of the bean without cream or sugar to get in the way.
I do recommend this to anyone that wants a good consistent cup. Very smooth!

YUM
acalliste | Mon, 06/20/2011 - 19:47I made the mistake of trying the Peaberry first, so nothing can ever be as good as that, but this is still some spectacular coffee. I give it 5 stars because even though it's not quite as delicious as the Peaberry, it's not as expensive either.

GEVALIA CUPPING COMPETITION FINALIST
Kona Earth | Fri, 11/26/2010 - 20:07All of Kona was hit with a bad drought last year (late 2009). Kona Earth made it through and our trees are totally recovered. This year's crop is as strong as ever, in quantity as well as quality. As proof, not only is our coffee selling better than ever, we also were awarded finalist in the 2010 Gevalia Cupping Competition.
LOTS OF POTENTIAL, BUT FAILED TO DELIVER
jabaim | Mon, 07/12/2010 - 16:31Was excited to try out this Kona, and the aroma upon opening was good -- a bit nutty, some hints of cinnamon. Unfortunately, brewing left me with a surprisingly weak, somewhat sour cup of joe. Tried a few different options -- drip vs french press, greater/lesser amounts of ground coffee than usual, but same results. Certainly drinkable with plenty of milk, but not worth the $25.

NOT EXACTLY BLOWN AWAY
xprzzo | Fri, 04/02/2010 - 17:43At $25 a pound, I would expect a roast date - not just the month - I think the bag I received was well past its prime. Could not get it to pull anything worth writing home about - all I could do with it was drown it in milk. You could smell the potential, but it did not make it into the cup. The roast was a little on the dark side for a 'medium roast'.
I might give it another try at some point, because I normally like Kona.
