Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee, and the Sidamo Union of growers, comprised of 80,000 farmers, put the region's traditional knowledge into practice with nearly 50 regional base coops, including Kilenso Mokanesa located in the mountains above the Rift Valley. This coop grows at nearly 6,500 feet which results in an extremely dense, high-grown bean. Unlike the Wayecho Cooperative of the same region, Kilenso Mokanesa uses washed processing: immediately after harvest, the pulp of the fruit is removed by milling. After that, the fruit is briefly fermented and finally "washed" with water before being dried on patios. Washed coffee results in a cleaner, brighter (higher acidity) and more consistent coffee.

Great coffee. And it comes in an old fashioned coffee can.
