Ethiopian Yirgacheffe Konga Organic Coffee was the first micro-lot selected by Jim’s Organic Coffee at the first auction held by the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange in March, 2010. The Exchange’s Direct Specialty Trade division sells lots of very fancy coffees through these auctions. This allows farms direct access to buyers, which results in better prices through free markets. This also makes available the small 'micro-lots' of coffees. Konga is named for the river that begins in this very high elevation (1900 meters) within the larger Yirgacheffe region.
