CAROLINA CLASSIC ROAST
Judith22 | Thu, 02/02/2012 - 08:32Very good coffee. Good strong flavored, most certainly a treat for the morning.
CAROLINA CLASSIC ROAST
jmerrihew | Mon, 01/30/2012 - 20:52I was impressed. It was milder than I expected, but smoother also. I nice plus for me. I still love the Supremo Columbians best for my taste preference, but this is a nice version of full bodied coffee without the extra kick I've come to love. Do try it, if you haven't and like a good all around coffee for all time of the day.

CAROLINA CLASSIC, GREAT VALUE
rdfish1 | Thu, 01/19/2012 - 06:52i think this coffee is very good in my press but when combined w/ the great value for the 5lb bag and a 10% off, free shipping, it was $40 delivered and that makes it even greater.
WELL BALANCED
docspaugh | Sun, 12/18/2011 - 20:13Smooth and balanced, very little bitterness. Full bodied. Enjoy!
NOT BAD, BUT NOT FOR ME
Amanda | Mon, 11/28/2011 - 13:53I'm reviewing from a sample I received. The coffee was already ground for a regular drip coffee maker - but since I don't have one, I brewed using my french press. The flavor was pretty sharp, and not to my tastes. It wasn't bad - it definitely beats 90% of the grocery shelf options. But I've found a lot of roasts that I love on RoastE, and this is not one of them. I won't be ordering it.
IRON BREW SAMPLE
Paul Cree | Sun, 11/27/2011 - 12:13Sample coffee had too fine a grind for me and did not know who many cups it was meant to brew. Can't be sure how good coffee was without specific brewing instructions.
IRON BREW
TF602 | Fri, 11/25/2011 - 18:42Yummy yummy in my tummy! Thank you for allowing me to try your product. I plan on hitting you up for more!
GOOD COFFEE, BUT THE ROAST
David Babikian | Wed, 11/23/2011 - 08:16Good coffee, but the roast was a little darker than I like. If you like starbucks this would be good for you, especially since it is a similar dark roast but clearly with better beans.
IRON BREW
Rosemarie | Tue, 11/22/2011 - 12:12Full bodied, no frills, just pure coffee bean at it's best. If you want to just savor the aroma and taste of an original classic coffee, y with your flavoured coffee creamers, this will not diisaapoint you
PRETTY GOOD ROAST. ENJOYED
Grace Suzuki | Tue, 11/22/2011 - 07:29Pretty good roast. Enjoyed it!
CAROLINA CLASSIC ROAST
northernmoose | Mon, 11/14/2011 - 12:49I like it quite a bit. Not to acidic and very smooth. Smells delicious. Compared to the Store brand I purchased last there is no comparison. It does not make me feel sick to my stomach. Smells good all day long instead of that sour burnt coffee smell.
IT'S A GOOD FLAVOR BUT I
ARDYE3 | Tue, 11/08/2011 - 07:38It's a good flavor but I don't think I would reorder
VERY, VERY GOOD
IMBuckI | Fri, 10/21/2011 - 17:01When I first joined ROASTe, this was one of the first coffee's a looked at given its popularity and high rating. My expectations. therefore, were understandably high. I was even more excited when the package arrived and I could smell the wonderful aroma outside of the box. But for some reason, it didn't fully translate to the cup. It was a smooth cup, almost too smooth. I let the beans sit for a few days, as I have with other freshly roasted coffees to let the CO2 work its way out. I do not know what made the difference, but the next cup was amazing. Nutty, smooth, delicious. I have come to expect a balanced profile with Cerrado coffee, and this didn't disappoint. I don't know if the first brew wasn't spectacular, but I can tell you that the remaining cups were.
VERY GOOD
mtmctm | Tue, 10/04/2011 - 05:20Loved it
NO COMPLAINTS WHATSOEVER.
Joe Robertson | Tue, 09/27/2011 - 21:54No complaints whatsoever. For the price, a great coffee. It didn't completely floor me this time but I still enjoyed it a lot. Looking forward to more.

GREAT COFFEE! IMMEDIATE FAVORITE!
IanJF92 | Tue, 09/20/2011 - 23:02This coffee had a lingering aftertaste that made me want more. The flavor was earthy and nutty. I loved drinking this coffee with almonds and craisins. Definitely will buy this again.
SO GOOD
patty_is_me_38 | Tue, 09/13/2011 - 17:12This is a very good coffee. It reminds me of the old time coffee house coffee. It is really nice!

COFFEE
kimkneip | Thu, 07/28/2011 - 12:13Never tried or even heard of this coffee before. It is a very good coffee and I would purchase again.
I TRIED CAROLINA CLASSIC
srzorn | Mon, 07/11/2011 - 18:12I tried Carolina Classic Roast for the first time today and enjoyed the smooth flavor; perfect for an eye-opening cup of java in the morning.
A VERY MILD ROAST
caseyk73 | Wed, 06/29/2011 - 10:49I have to agree with a few of the other reviews, this blend has a very mild/light flavor. A little disappointed, but this would be great for a coffee drinker that is not looking for a bold/heavy coffee. Might have a polace as an evening or after dinner coffee, but probably will not be buying it again.
STRONG AND DELICIOUS
davlynn | Wed, 05/25/2011 - 09:48I "threw this in" on an order of mostly flavored coffees, but it's actually become my favorite of the bunch. It's strong- but not too strong and not bitter at all. I never look forward to getting out of my bed- but at least I know this is waiting for me when I do.
TOO MILD.
pinta23 | Thu, 05/19/2011 - 09:30Too mild.
EXCELLENT COFFEE!
cjh185 | Sun, 05/15/2011 - 19:55This coffee is great, very smooth - just wonderful in the morning. From grinding to brewing to sipping, the aroma is heavenly!
DESCRIPTION NEEDS UPDATING - BUT THE COFFEE IS GOOD!
EricBNC | Thu, 05/05/2011 - 20:07The roaster describes this Brazilian coffee as a customer favorite! A medium roast, it offers one of the smoothest cups of brew. Flavorful and never bitter. 100% Premium Arabica Beans, never blended. I got a sample in the mail (thanks!) which I was excited to try since the roaster is located in the Carolinas too.
The dry beans smell pungent and dark while the brewed aroma is like dark chocolate - this is the darkest medium roast I can recall - maybe the roast profile has changed since the description was posted. The first sip is balanced and clean with neither acidity nor sweetness winning till the finish when the chocolate from the brewed aroma joins in the cup. The mouth feel is medium and silky in texture. As it cools a nice bittersweet bite steps in to give the finish an added flavor dimension.
I first tried this one first as an espresso shot and wow, it grabs my attention fast – this one is intense from start to finish, but in a good way. The big dog bite is nice (especially in the finish) since most espresso roasts I tried recently are more mellow than robust. As a coffee the cup minds it’s manners by presenting nice refined flavor notes but still with plenty enough spice to remind you why you want this coffee in your cup instead of tea. This coffee is worth trying whether espresso or pour over/auto drip (or both) is your thing.
THIS HAS A NICE, SMOOTH
groovychic7775 | Wed, 05/04/2011 - 14:41This has a nice, smooth flavor. No bitterness; easy on a morning belly!
GREAT MILD MORNING COFFEE!
groovychic7775 | Wed, 05/04/2011 - 14:40Great mild morning coffee!
THANKS ROASTE!!!
BoardnMatt | Tue, 05/03/2011 - 08:01I just received a sample of this coffee out of the blue, and I'm soooo glad I did. Having never heard of this company before, I probably wouldn't have taken the chance to try it, but wow! It has a real nice flavor (low acidity) with undertones of cocoa and a very smooth finish. And now that I've seen the price, there's no way to stop me from ordering this delicious brew again. Thanks Roaste!!!
CAROLINA ROAST
broseph | Mon, 05/02/2011 - 20:22ROASTe was kind enough to send me a sample of this but--given the taste of the coffee--I'm not completely sure how to interpret the gesture. Even though this is listed as a medium roast, I found it to be very dark. Strong ash, carbon, firewood aromas and flavors without any redeeming qualities (at least with something dark like Peet's, you get some fruit qualities). Not pleasant at all!
WOULD GIVE THIS A FOUR OUT OF 5 PTS
BSKTOFDREAMS | Wed, 04/20/2011 - 08:19I still like the ecco cafe better!
CAROLINA CLASSIC ROAST
carmon.march | Sat, 10/02/2010 - 12:34Nice mild morning coffee.
CAROLINA CLASSIC ROAST
barf | Sat, 09/04/2010 - 12:11Great coffee. I love the aroma.
SMOOTH AND A GREAT VALUE -
Rand H | Tue, 03/23/2010 - 11:07Smooth and a great value - very round and balanced cup - it doesn't have any strong or pointed characteristics but it has a complete absence of any negative traits as well. An excellent beginners cup or gift to a new coffee drinker.
IRON BREW'S CLASSIC ROAST
awest27 | Wed, 02/17/2010 - 16:35One of my favorites, Tasty blend.
NOTHING SPECIAL
skellertex | Sun, 02/14/2010 - 09:48Not bitter, fairly smooth, but sort of bland. Nothing to write home about.
IRON ROAST
jerry | Mon, 02/01/2010 - 23:18The coffee has a good deep taste. The flavor is very appealing and enjoyable.
AWESOME!!!
JohnGannon | Thu, 01/21/2010 - 11:14I just finished my first bag of Iron Brew's Classic roast and it was some the best coffee I've tasted! The only problem was I made the rookie move of taking the bag to work, so it was gone in a few short days. I will difintely be ordering more, but this time I'm keeping it all to myself. I can't wait to try the other roasts. Keep up the good work!
OVERALL, THIS WAS A PLEASANT
Bill Lush | Sun, 09/13/2009 - 10:08Overall, this was a pleasant cup of coffee, but not particularly outstanding. The packaging is good, with the standard one-way valve and wire-reclosable opening. Unlike other custom roasters, there was no roast date that I could find.
The whole beans were clean and evenly roasted, but there wasn't a very strong coffee perfume. When ground, the aroma was pleasant, but short-lived.
After drip-brewing, the cup was good, but not particularly memorable. All-in, I would say this is a decent blend for the (reasonable) price, and could easily serve as an all-purpose breakfast cup.
GREAT AROMA AND TASTE
Ronald Burrage | Tue, 06/16/2009 - 05:58I love waking up to the smell of coffee and this one is perfect. I set my machine on auto and when the timer goes off, the faint beep down stairs acts as my alarm clock. When the smell of the coffee makes it's way upstairs, it's heaven. This one does it. Oh, and it tastes great too!
WOW - DEEP RICH EARTHY ESPRESSO-LIKE FLAVOR
Lisa Loren | Fri, 05/22/2009 - 21:22This coffee grabbed me by the collar because of its intense earthy espresso flavor.
From the first sip of IronBrew's Brazilian coffee, it's strong, powerful, dark, and rich. It is kind of like what I imagine a bunch of Brazilian cowboys drinking on the Pampas while they are sitting around a campfire. It's a manly cup of very strong coffee (which is not to exclude women from drinking it...it's delicious)
It's a dark colored brew from dark roasted beans. In the french press, I even needed an extra hand to plunge it because the grinds stuck to the carafe, fighting back. It's like turkish coffee with three times the flavor.
You have to hand it to IronBrew. Their coffee is exclusively from the Cerrado region in Brazil. Cerrado contains the world's largest savannah. And apparently also a place that grows rich flavored coffee beans. IronBrew's 6 gourmet coffees differ only in the extent to which they roast it and whether it's decaf or flavored.
They get hese beans directly from farmers in the Cerrado region. They cut out so many middlemen that you could say they're beyond fair trade.
This coffee is so strong in flavor that it tastes like an espresso. In fact, IronBrew says that Brazilian beans from the Cerrado region make up over 75% of the beans in Illy's gourmet espresso coffee. This is 100% flavor. I would bet that in Illy 's coffee the other 25% of the beans are inexpensive ones (from Vietnam or Indonesia or India) because the Cerrado beans impart so much flavor that they can dilute it.
So if you want bold strong flavor that tastes like the ancient drink of the Mayans, this is it.
Highly recommended for those wanting a very flavorful robust flavor.
