jbviau | Tue, 06/28/2011 - 08:02Again, I used to use one of these in my drip machines with good results. At the time, I felt I was just being "green" by not wasting paper filters. Only later did I realize that I was also doing myself a favor since metal filters--unlike paper--allow certain aromatic oils to pass into the cup, giving you a different (some might say "richer") flavor profile. One downside, however: these metal filters also allow fine sediment through. As with French press coffee, beware the last sip.
