Bialetti Venus Stainless Steel Stovetop Coffee Maker 4-Cup is a stainless steel version of the stovetop espresso coffeemaker first patented by the Italian Alfonso Bialetti in 1933. His company still produces the most commonly used moka pot in Europe.

Mokas, which can be electrical or stovetop, come in different sizes from 1-cup to 12-cups. It’s important to remember that to Europeans, an espresso “cup” is a 2-oz. measure. A 12 cup capacity is really only equivalent to three 8 oz. cups. ROASTe recommends that its customers purchase at least 1 size larger Bialetti than they think they need; our customers have been happiest with the larger Bialettis to compensate for the small European-sized cup measurements.

Bialetti Venus Stainless Steel Stovetop Coffee Maker 4-Cup features:

•  Easy to Use;
•  Fits right on the stovetop;
•  Makes some of the best-tasting espresso moka coffee;
•  Ready in 4-5 minutes;
•  Stainless Steel Construction;
•  Safety pressure release valve;
•  Makes four 2-oz cups.

    This is another one of my Moka pots; the 4-cup size is really nice for one person. While some say that the aluminum models make better coffee, I like the non-reactiveness of the stainless steel...there's no metallic aftertaste. It's also easier to clean thoroughly. Some say that the aluminum models should be allowed to acquire a coffee crust...I say that's gross!
