Bialetti Moka Express Stovetop Coffee Maker 9-Cup is a type of stovetop espresso coffee maker first patented by the Italian Alfonso Bialetti in 1933. His company Bialetti continues to produce the same model known as the "Moka Express". Most commonly used in Europe, the moka pot has become known as an iconic design, displayed in modern industrial art museums, such as the Science Museum in London.

Mokas come in different sizes from 1-cup to 12-cups. It’s important to remember that to Europeans, an espresso “cup” is a 2-oz. measure. A 12 cup capacity is really only equivalent to three 8 oz. cups. ROASTe recommends that its customers purchase at least 1 size larger Bialetti than they think they need; our customers have been happiest with the larger Bialettis to compensate for the small European-sized cup measurements.
