Bialetti Moka Express Stovetop Coffee Maker 1-Cup is a type of stovetop espresso coffee maker first patented by the Italian Alfonso Bialetti in 1933. His company Bialetti continues to produce the same model known as the "Moka Express". Most commonly used in Europe, the moka pot has become known as an iconic design, displayed in modern industrial art museums, such as the Science Museum in London.
Mokas come in different sizes from 1-cup to 12-cups. It’s important to remember that to Europeans, an espresso “cup” is a 2-oz. measure. A 12 cup capacity is really only equivalent to three 8 oz. cups. ROASTe recommends that its customers purchase at least 1 size larger Bialetti than they think they need; our customers have been happiest with the larger Bialettis to compensate for the small European-sized cup measurements.
Bialetti Moka Express Stovetop Coffee Maker 1-Cup features:
• Stovetop brewer makes one 2-ounce cup of moka coffee in just 4 to 5 minutes.
• Made of durable polished aluminum in a now-famous octagon shape.
• Flip-up top and side-pour spout provide added convenience.
• Wash by hand with warm soapy water and rinse clean.
• Made in Italy.

PERSONAL SIZE
EricBNC | Fri, 12/23/2011 - 22:11this is a small size for one of these moka pots - aluminum means great heat transfer too for fast brewing - I am a big fan of the Bialetti brand.
A SELFISH CUP OF COFFEE
flavia | Tue, 09/13/2011 - 08:31This is what I've been using for years for my first strong cup of coffee in the morning... which often turns into a cappuccino.
The machine is realiable, simple, beautifully built and you only occasionally (once a year) have to change a gasket which costs pennies and is readily available.
THIS MAKES THE MOST
jenniferd | Fri, 07/01/2011 - 00:55This makes the most authentic espresso you can make outside of Italy!!!
WORKED GREAT!
Sarahh | Wed, 06/29/2011 - 19:22I wanted something small, simple and affordable. This definitely fit my needs. One cup was all I needed. I wasn't much of a coffee drinker before. I was more intrigued with the process of making coffee. I didn't want to deal with some heavy machine with electrical wires. So after looking around and reading great reviews on this coffee maker i decided to give it a try. I loved making coffee in the mornings.
LOVE BIALETTI
OCcoffeelover | Wed, 06/29/2011 - 11:55I prefer to use my electric espresso machine -- but when traveling this does the job perfectly. Especially if you are going to somewhere where your host does not drink coffee! Easy to use and to fit into your suitcase!
DECENT DEVICE
Doug Pickett | Tue, 06/28/2011 - 14:11This is a solid little device. Good for when I don't want to hassle with the electric espresso machine. Does not make as good espresso, but definitely makes better coffee than the drip machine. It gets it use a couple times a month.
GREAT STOVE TOP ESPRESSO
matt.holstege | Sun, 05/01/2011 - 14:14I use this when I travel. I do not like drip coffee and prefer straight espresso and sugar. This little stove top moka produces exactly what I like and have grown up drinking. Not everyone can afford or has the room for a consumer/pro espresso machine in their home and this technique has been used in many homes since the 1930's. It has to be good if it is still in use in so many homes today all over Italy.
