The Yama Coffee Siphon 8 cups allows anyone to brew an exceptional cup of coffee at home. This 8 cup/40 oz. coffee siphon works perfectly on gas stoves, but for use on electric coil burners, an additional wire diffuser is included. Whether or electric or gas, it’s important to use medium or medium-high heat to produce that wonderful cup.
To make coffee with the Yama Coffee Siphon, start with a slightly finer grind of coffee. Drop the washable, reusable cloth covered filter into the infusion chamber so that the chain hangs down into the glass siphon tube. Pull the chain down and hook it to the bottom of the siphon tube. Fill the bottom carafe to the desired cup mark with hot water and place one measuring spoon per cup of coffee in the top chamber.
It takes about 4 minutes to heat the water which is siphoned to the top chamber. Allow 2 minutes for the brewing. Remove the coffee from the heat source; it will return to the bottom carafe. Remove the top and place it in its convertible lid/stand. The pot can be brought to the table for serving.
The Yama Coffee Siphon- 8 cups is dishwasher and microwave safe. If one of the siphon's chambers breaks during shipping, please let us know and we'll replace the chamber at our expense.

YAMA 8 CUP VAC POT
IMAWriter | Thu, 06/30/2011 - 00:20Owned this vac pot for several years. The glass is hardy, the gasket makes the trip down south run flawlessly, and is easy to clean due to the wider mouth on the bottom carafe.
I replaced the cloth filter with a Silex "Lox-In" glass filter. $10 on ebay for the filter. Saves the cleaning and storing of the cloth filter, though I must say the cloth filter makes ultra clean coffee, no grounds whatsoever.
Excellent pot. Excellent price.
Highly recommended.
BEAUTIFUL BREWING EXPERIENCE
chopskit | Wed, 04/27/2011 - 21:03I bought this apparatus in order to brew stove-top coffee, which I've found to be more to my taste than the conventional drip method, and also far more enjoyable to use: no cords, no phantom leaks, no surprises. You can see the whole brewing process as it occurs, and the device is easy to take apart and clean. It is fragile, and the way it assembles gives potential for breaking pieces, e.g., the thin vertical tube seems vulnerable when putting the top and bottom together or securing the stretched chain to the tube's bottom from the cloth filter on top. You can also watch the water boil and the liquid move between the two globes - and you'll want to, since you'll also need to stir the grounds and cool your brew before that glass gets too hot.

THE BEST VAC POT
fatbrotha | Tue, 01/18/2011 - 15:19This is a well built, durable Vac Pot. I've been using this unit for 5 months now without any issues. Very simple to use and clean up while more involved than your standard drip makers, is simple, Just make sure your hands are dry or you risk slippage which can lead to breakage :)
Makes some of the best smooth tasting coffee and brews it strong which allows you to use less coffee and save you money in long run.
Compared to bodum stovetop this one wins hands down.
YAMA 8 CUP SIPHON COFFEE MAKER.. BETTER THAN A FRENCH PRESS
harvsch | Mon, 01/17/2011 - 14:09I have been using a French Press for the past eight years. The press has always made a very good cup of coffee. I came across a picture of an old Sunbeam vacuum pot and remembered that it made excellent coffee. I got rid of it only because the pot was mechanically breaking down.
After doing some research I decided to get the Yama 8 cup vacuum pot. I didn't see much difference in design from the other vacuum pots available and the price was good. I did buy a stainless mesh filter for it because I don't like having a filter that is going to absorb or block the coffee oils.
My first pot brewed with the Yama brought me back to the absolutely superb coffee that this type of pot can brew. It has all the richness and flavor that I got from a press, but free of the sediments that a press often has. I find that I use less coffee per cup with the Yama than I did with the French Press. Brewing good coffee just got less costly. An added benefit is that the coffee is not sitting in the grounds, and has a fresher taste than the press coffee when reheated (microwave).
I used to make excellent coffee, now I make superb coffee.
By the way, I use it on a six inch, 1500 W. infrared ceramic cook-top and I have no problem with it. Boils the water in about four minutes. I turn off the heat as it starts to boil and install the top half. Residual heat from the burner keeps the water boiling. I move the pot to an unheated burner after a three minute steep time.

YAMA COFFEE SIPHON 8 CUPS
debchen8 | Sun, 12/05/2010 - 13:14My first time using a coffee siphon and I absolutely loved it! Everything came nicely packaged nothing was broken. The instructions were easy to follow and most importantly it made amazing coffee. I don't usually drink all of the coffee that I make but with this one I do and I even heat it up after it's gotten cold and it's still good!! Amazing!
GREAT COFFEE MAKER
A Smart | Sun, 08/22/2010 - 07:31I give this coffee maker a 5 star because it makes the best coffee I have ever had. I have always had an automatic and with this pot it changes the whole flavor to a richer, nuttier taste and it takes about the same amount of time to brew.
THEY WERE RIGHT!
Tom | Sun, 07/25/2010 - 11:43I've read about how 1. Cool coffee siphon vac pot brewing process was 2. What a great cup of java it would produce! I was not let down on either point. Such a cool device that's easy to use. I used an electric kettle to heat my water which also makes it quite a fast process once you get going. The result was a very smooth brew that I plan on perfecting with each new batch of beans ... varying my grind and timing. I'm sure to impress my dinner guests next time I offer coffee! Shipped quickly West to East Coast via priority mail with no damage. Thanks!

YUMMY COFFEE
feyannheim | Fri, 05/07/2010 - 15:25I just received this a week ago. I am so glad I bought the Siphon. The coffee I make is fantastic with no bitter after taste. Just good coffee. Yes, it takes a little more time to make and to clean up but in my humble opinion it is worth it. I am spreading the word about this coffee maker.
IT IS EASY TO USE AND IT

I'VE ALWAYS HAD A PROBLEM
fsauchak | Mon, 04/19/2010 - 20:16I've always had a problem making a drinkable cup of coffee at home. With the Yama coffee siphon I find it just about impossible to make a bad cup. In fact, I like it so much that I ordered a second Yama to have as a spare. Simply a great product.
YAMA COFFEE SIPHON
billlyons | Mon, 04/12/2010 - 13:11Makes great coffee although a little weak following the recommended instructions. I will just add more coffee. Appears to be real fragile so I am being real careful with it.

YAMA COFFEE SIPHON- 8 CUPS
ddaniels3 | Sun, 03/28/2010 - 06:34Makes an excellent pot of coffee. Easy to use. Only downside is the clean up takes a little longer than a regular coffee maker. The filter takes a little extra care to clean. Well worth the effort for the flavor and taste you get.

skullring | Sat, 01/09/2010 - 17:55I love this coffee siphon. It makes a great cup of coffee. My in laws are in town and they ask me to use it to make the coffee every morning. I will order them one soon as well. I would like for the pot to be bigger like a 12 cup but that is a small issue. I also think it is a great price. I would highly recommend it.
SIPHON POT
sgman316 | Wed, 04/27/2011 - 16:13I have several coffee making options available to me. Espresso, Drip, Press. This little gem makes a wonderful pot of coffee. There is no coffee sludge dust at the bottoms of my coffee cups any more and its fun to watch it in action.
If you are looking for a great cup of coffee this little coffee siphon really does the trick
