Full body, medium to bold intensity, sweet fruity notes, chocolate finish.
This Harrar charms us with its complex and intense flavors of wild fruit, such as strawberry, and smooth chocolate undertones, followed by a clean, crisp finish. It has a full and round body.

"I french pressed my first batch and was delighted to have a small explosion of berry off the start, followed with deep chocolate notes and a light, tea-like body. The vacuum press had a little less luster, with similar berry effects and a hints of pineapple and an oolong-ish taste on the back. The drip was very similar to the first two, but even more subdued."

Very deep flavor. Good coffee.... pricey, though.... I would consider this a special treat, but I'll stick witgh my Sumatra.

  • ETHIOPIAN HARRAR COFFEE

I'll say there are not many Ethiopian coffees I don't enjoy ... but this Harrar was excellent. It smelled amazing in the box and in the bag. Even more explosive during the grind! I used this as a pour over in the Hario V60 - and Clever Coffee Dripper ... both amazing. I also pulled it as an espresso and really enjoyed its fruity character. As I said above ... I could smell this coffee from the box and that's because it did not come sealed air tight. I mentioned this in my last Flat Black review but I'll mention it again. This coffee arrived in a paper sack with no roast date. A bit disappointed with their presentation being a micro roaster. That said the coffee was fresh and I did enjoy it quite a bit!

  • BERRY BOMB!

This coffee makes a stunning SO espresso and equally good brewed coffee. As an espresso, I dosed it at 19 grams, pulled it towards the hotter side and found it to make a very sweet, berry flavored shot that was eventually followed by chocolate in the aftertaste. The berry flavors seems to carry over when brewed as coffee as well making it difficult for one to decide which way to enjoy it. As such, I can see keeping this coffee on hand often.

    Cheers,
    Jackson
