  • OK TAMPER

    Son Ton | Mon, 05/21/2012 - 22:00

This tamper is okay. It is made from stainless steel which is a plus. However the size of 52mm does not really fit the 53mm basket very tightly thus some coffee ground still stick to the side of the basket. In my opinion, this is not such a huge deal but one might consider a better fit tamper if such issue is a bother.

This is probably not the best tamper but it works better than the plastic tamper for the price. I would rather spend a little more and get a better fit tamper though.

  • NICE TAMPER

This is a nice looking tamper - 52mm is the perfect size for the popular Krups XP series and fits some DeLonghi and breville units as well.

  • REASONABLE TAMPER

    Wakeknot | Tue, 09/27/2011 - 21:21

as per usual tampers that are not through the roof in price do not tend to be exactly the size specified in the product description, but this one will do the job just fine.

  • GREAT TAMPER!

These tampers are great. I replaced my plastic tamper which I got with the espresso coffee maker, and the results are much much better.

  • WRONG SIZE

    achorlton | Sat, 02/12/2011 - 19:33

This tamper is supposed to be 52mm; in fact it's 50mm and does not tamp my expresso holder correctly

  • WELL BUILT BUT NOT 52MM

    service | Fri, 10/29/2010 - 09:01

After buy a guage to specificaly measure my espresso filter, I ordered this tamper as it states "52mm" Upon arrival the base measured 51.25mm

The tamper leaves a gap when in the filter where coffee sqeezes out.

So buyer be aware, it's a bit smaller than 52mm at the base.

    Good Luck

  • PERFECT LOOKS, PERFECT FUNCTION

After carefully measuring the portafilter in our DeLongui BAR32 I took the chance of disagreeing with the suggested tamper diameter of 51mm and bought this 52mm one.

Perfect fit! it is very good looking and the slightly convex base leaves a very smooth grind surface.

Very pleased with the product and the purchasing experience.
