dwfog | Sat, 12/31/2011 - 08:54I first enjoyed this coffee at a bed and breakfast in South Dakota. I loved its rich, nuanced flavor--just perfect with a scone for breakfast. I'll be the first to say that I'm not a coffee connoisseur; I drink even that horrid stuff that comes in hotel rooms (but at least I know it's horrid--I just need the caffeine). This coffee is far above anything I've ever tasted, smooth, rich and satisfying, but not too strong. It's a delicious way to start the day.

I find I don't need to use as much as the coffee I had been using but just add a bit more for the extra "kick in the pants" I some times need. Well last Sunday afternoon my Mom and Stepdad were here, we had cooked lunch/dinner for them. I had a fresh homemade apple pie in the oven so about an hour after lunch/dinner I got up took the pie from the oven and put on a pot of my Douwe Egberts Coffee. We all went on and on about it, the smoothness of this coffee is unreal. I LOVE IT!!

don6641 | Sun, 11/06/2011 - 03:49I first tried this brand of coffee at work, and I loved it so much. I decided to look for it online and when I found it I was super excited. The service was good, it only took a few days for delivery. I don't claim to be a coffee expert, but I have drank coffee everyday of my life for the past fifteen years so I have plenty to compare this coffee to. Anyways when I first opened the bag of coffee I knew immediately that these wasn't going to be anything special about this coffee. But I still had high hopes but ended up highly disappointed with this coffee after I brewed the first pot. I guess my biggest disappointment was that it was so expensive and there is absolutely nothing unique about its taste. There are atleast 5 store shelf brand coffees that cost half as much and are 100% more satisfying one of which is a $3.00 great value brand from walmart. The only reason why I didn't give this coffee one star is because the service is good. It's not a bad tasting coffee it's just a bad coffee considering its price. Also, the bad the coffee is packaged in is among the cheapest I've ever encountered.

You have us spoiled to a good cup of coffee now. My husband shared some of your coffee with our pastor yesterday at church. He has to really like it to share coffee with others.! It's not to strong and not to mild, and good with cream and sugar for me. It is nothing like the one at the local hospital where I 1st tasted DE.

However, I was disappointed that the coffee was nearing expiration date and the packaging was difficult to manage. It was vacuum sealed like cheap Maxwell House or something. The coffee is good, despite the non-ideals.
