    I use this for backflushing my machine. It is basically baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) with a couple of other ingredients. It does a good job removing coffee oil and solids from the grouphead to the three way solenoid in my espresso machine. Coffee ends up tasting a lot better, especially in the finish because there is no burnt coffee lingering over the portafilter. I have not used this for descaling because it is cheaper to use citric acid from a brew shop.

    This works well but you can use citric acid with the same results for a lower cost. I started with this years ago and then learned about citric acid as an alternative on CG.

    the product works well, however, for a prosumer hx or double boiler, the packaging is a little small - 3 bags for 1 liter (~32oz) each. You need two for the HX circuit and two for the boiler.... so ordering one box will not get the job done.....
