This delightful single-origin, natural-process was a tricky bean to get just right, but when we did, we were blown away! A light-to-medium roast, it has huge blueberry notes with dark brown-sugar sweetness. Truly a unique coffee!

We think Coffeereview.com evaluated this "natural" the best when they awarded it 92 points with the following review:
"Blind Assessment: Bright with bergamot and bittersweet lemon, crisp baker’s chocolate and fresh-cut fir, this dried-in-the-fruit coffee cupped more like a fine Ethiopia washed coffee than a natural, though a rounding hint of cherry-blueberry sweetness complicated the profile and appeared to confirm its processing method. Delicate acidity; light, silky mouthfeel; long, lemon-and-cocoa-saturated finish." http://www.coffeereview.com/review.cfm?ID=2311

ETHIOPIAN SIDAMO COFFEE
jlarue | Tue, 02/28/2012 - 11:16Excellent cup. Brewed with a french press. Complex, fruity floral in the cup. Fresh ground you can smell yeast. For the price compared to other roasters, this one is underated. I will be exploring other coffees from this roaster.

COMPLEX
themasterbrewer | Mon, 01/09/2012 - 01:51I really enjoy a complex bean, and this Ethiopian hit the spot. Fruity and a light roast, which I think brings out the character of the coffee. Tried it as straight up espresso and with the Aeropress. I have enjoyed several coffees from the West Bean.
TOTALLY DIFFERENT
bdkarr | Wed, 12/28/2011 - 17:21This is a really good cup of coffee that has a really unique flavor to it. Definitely a fruit taste to the tongue. Goes good with a hearty breakfast and I love it for my latte.
WEST BEAN- ETHIOPIAN SIDAMO
yeahyeah | Fri, 12/02/2011 - 18:51Prepared in a V60: Blueberry is the dominant flavor, but it is more muted and musty than I expected. Good coffee, I'd recommend it and I would buy it again.
GOOOD TO LAST DROP
chuck | Tue, 10/25/2011 - 21:43The pine nut test is there with a earthy test also.
NICE COMPLEXITY
kristinmmc | Mon, 08/08/2011 - 19:25I’m usually into a much darker roast for my Ethiopians, but this was a nice change. It definitely brought out some brightness and complexity in the bean. Very easy drinking!
EXCEPTIONAL COFFEE
Nuance Coffee and Tea | Wed, 11/24/2010 - 17:52As a roaster, myself, I have high expectations for fresh roasted coffee. This is one well roasted coffee. The HUGE blueberry tone hits you the minute you open the bag. The lighter roast level is perfect for this coffee. Its body and the sweet finish were superb. One of the best coffees I have had in quite some time. Job Well Done!
IT'S REALLY HARD TO FIND A
broseph | Tue, 10/26/2010 - 06:54It's really hard to find a good natural-process Ethiopian. This one wasn't for me, but I can understand how someone might like it. It has the classic "blueberry" note, which I put in quotes because it's an artificial-tasting blueberry. Like blueberry bubble gum. I also got this muddled herbal quality, borderline earthy, which isn't bad per se. Again, it's just not my style.
