  • RICH, BRIGHT MORNING COFFEE

    Chamie | Mon, 05/07/2012 - 11:17

I'm not typically a fan of South American origins, but this was delicious. It's light and crisp on the tongue, with a hint of tangerine and a lovely cedar smokiness. It's a great wake-me-up coffee and brews up nicely in an ADC, a moka and as a drip coffee. I'll definitely order it again, especially since everyone else in the house enjoys it, too.

  • WEST BEAN BRAZILIAN

    jlarue | Wed, 03/28/2012 - 15:14

Very good cup. Again I brew with a press. Rich flavor with chocolate overtones. The only negative to me was tha it did not have any one flavor profile/ characteristic that really popped (That may not be a negative for many). To me the benefits of being a single origin and using natural process should allow the unique flavor profile to shine, This is just very well balanced.

  • BEST FLAVOR AND FRESHNESS

    Dyanatthelake | Wed, 01/11/2012 - 09:55

I stumbled across this coffee while in San Diego a few months ago
I loved the flavor, aroma and craftmanship of the selective bean and roasting process. I contacted the company to see if I could buy it online.. I am never letting this coffee get away. I have ordered it online and from roasting date to my front door is literally a week or so away!! I have never experienced this before.
The company suggested other roasts and I am amazed at the variety and complexity of each bean..
I am so darn picky about my coffee
Thank you so very much for this heavenly experience

  • MMMM...CHOCOLATE

    themasterbrewer | Mon, 01/09/2012 - 02:02

If you like chocolate, this Brazilian is a great pick. It has a cocoa powder richness that is very enjoyable. Even though it has a darker roast than I'm used to, it was right on for this bean. The West Bean presentation is the perfect combination of hand-crafted and professional.

  • NOT A BAD COFFEE BY ANY

    bchrist89 | Wed, 06/22/2011 - 14:17

Not a bad coffee by any means. I was trying to find a comparable alternative to this coffee I've only been able to find at a local store, and this is somewhat close, however it differs quite a bit. Strong bold nutty flavor, these beans pack a punch. Quite dark, and yet there is something light about them simultaneously. Starts off bold and robust, but finishes with a light nuttier flavor that soothes and cleanses the palette.

this is one of my favorite dark coffees available anywhere. complex flavor with a smooth fresh finish. incredible. the decaf brazilian is also phenomenal. i like that the west bean uses recyclable and compostable bags too. these local san diego guys have a great story as well. happy to support them.
