This is the first I’ve offered a Yemen and I’m truly VERY excited about this coffee! Relative to other Yemeni coffees – which can exhibit some rather unwholesome (to some) "gamey wildness", this northern grown Harasi is clean, sweetly fruited, and potent. Yemen coffees are dry processed and therefore tend to be extremely aromatic and fruity with a full wine-like body. Also partially due to it being a naturally processed coffee, it is not an attractive roast to look at.

But do not let the look of this coffee fool you; Yemens are one of the most-respected – and highest sought after – coffees in the world, which has ensured that high quality Yemens will always fetch high prices. This is an excellent choice for espresso as well, but due to the fact that this is a very hard bean you will most likely find yourself needing to let it off-gas a few days longer than usual. The aroma of the freshly ground coffee alone is quite intoxicating.

Quantities are limited.

Thick, syrupy body w/ dried apricot, peach, & mango, cinnamon, clove, dark chocolate, & sandalwood. Exotic & winey.

I haven't been wowed by this coffee brewed in various ways (Eva Solo, Aeropress, Clever), BUT it makes a great shot! Really enjoyable as espresso (aromatic, spicy, very sippable). Velton recommended starting with a 16-g. dose, and that's where I've ended up. Note: this coffee is not nearly as fruity as I'd expected.
