Somewhat like parents and their children I suppose, roasters are not really supposed to have a country of origin that they consider their “favorite”. Also sort of like parents as regards their children, we invariably DO have a favorite and for me it has been El Salvador for some time now. Coffee from Finca Santa Sofia has consistently fared well at Cup of Excellence – and deservedly so.
Think ripe, purple plum and deep, dark cherry fruit tones, heavy, nectar-like mouthfeel, and an absolutely crystal clear finish, and versatile in the sense that it performs equally well as both pour over or espresso, and I believe we have another winner here!

A GOOD DAY STARTER

It was a fine coffee but not as interesting or as complex as I had hoped for. Consequently, its simplistic experience was perfect for my first cup of the day when I'm typically not too interested in an overly fun and exciting coffee.
