EFFECTIVE
fatnat79 | Thu, 03/15/2012 - 16:42I don't know of any other manufacturer that makes filters for use with Hario V60's so I can't really compare these to anything else. All in all, these work just fine but need to be rinsed well before brewing to minimize paper taste. I also use these for my V60-01 since roaste doesn't stock the 01 size for some reason.

They do a very good job of catching the fine sediment, for a clear brew, and also seem to be fairly priced. As others have stated, it is best to rinse with hot water prior to filling in order to rid them of the paper taste.

I like to pour hot water through them first to get rid of any paper taste and help warm up the dripper prior to adding the ground coffee. Hold up well and don't tear when wet.

broseph | Tue, 06/28/2011 - 11:25While I gave a 5-star review to these filters on a different page, I have to say that I'm becoming less enthusiastic about them. This is after I've tried more filters. I still think they're very good, but Bonmac and Kalita have filters that put out less paper taste. Paper taste is one of those things that's comparative; you think a filter is great until you find something better. I used to think Chemex filters were awesome...now I think they're not so hot. Still, these Harios aren't Chemex-bad and ROASTe offers them at a great price.
