  • BEST SMELL, PRETTY LIGHT

    silo | Thu, 02/09/2012 - 17:17

Literally the best smelling coffee beans in teh world. The roast is pretty light compared to what i'm used to, but that is what's described so i can't complain.

  • INCREDIBLE

    Aaron McCarty | Wed, 01/18/2012 - 18:22

Absolutely delicious through-and-through. Very rich creamy texture with caramel/buttery undertones. Will definitely purchase again!

  • WORL'S BEST EXPRESSO

    rickm7 | Mon, 01/09/2012 - 09:42

This is a bold flavored expresso, but for my taste I prefer Klatch Belle Espresso Coffee.

  • GOOD ESPRESSO COFFEE

    hoonchul | Mon, 01/02/2012 - 23:57

Nice bold chocolaty flavor but was little too citrus for my taste. I did enjoy it very much when made into cappuccino.

  • VERY NICE!

    samuellaw178 | Sun, 12/25/2011 - 17:17

This bean require about 5-6 days of rest in order to get the most out of it. When it is pulled correctly on my Cremina as espresso, it is so syrupy, having silky body and has very pleasing Ethiopian fruitiness. It was slightly brighter than what I would like, but overall it's pretty balanced that I like it as a straight shot. There were some noticeable chocolatey flavor that I really liked! In addition, the nuances were all over and very sophisticated that I enjoyed immensely!
In milk drinks, it probably doesn't stand out too much but still it makes very tasty cappuccino! It's really excellent that I would like to order again, but for the price, I would try some other thing before coming back to this one.

  • EXCELLENT!

    matt.holstege | Tue, 11/22/2011 - 15:33

I was really impressed with this bean. After playing with the temperature and the grind/tamp, it really pulled an excellent shot. The crema was thick and came out like honey and the espresso itself was fabulous. It has very complex and layered flavors, the description listed with the coffe is very accurate. Not one of the different flavor notes overpowered the other. I will be ordering this bean again and again. Sylvia (pid) with rocky grinder.

  • OK

    Coffee Drinker | Mon, 11/21/2011 - 01:17

It was fine, but not quite the flavor we were looking for. We were surprised how dry the beans were - compared to my flavored coffee that had such a nice sheen to the beans.

  • GREAT ESPRESSO

    Wakeknot | Thu, 10/27/2011 - 20:00

but it is much pickier than Belle. The best shots are better, but they are harder to pull.

  • KLATCH WORLD'S BEST ESPRESSO

    paul.nibber | Tue, 10/25/2011 - 11:36

This coffee's flavors came in waves. It was very similar to the description... I got a bit of citrus at the beginning, then some berry-like fruit, and finally a very rounded out sweet chocolate note. This is some amazing espresso and I'm sure that it has the potential to be the world's best.

  • MILD WITH BALANCE TASTE

  • KLATCH WORLD'S BEST ESPRESSO COFFEE

    bruk111 | Tue, 09/06/2011 - 14:34

Definitely a fine bean and creates a great cup of coffee. Not sure I would rate it the worlds best, but it's up there. Shared with friends and to a man, all loved it. Very smooth, easy to drink. I would buy this again.

  • KLATCH'S WBE

    dpablo19 | Mon, 09/05/2011 - 03:20

Recently, I've been getting into espresso blends that are heavier on fruit, citrus in particular. This blend has stuck with me because of its depth. There was a distinct nose of lemon and orange peel, but as it softened in my mouth, I began to take in floral notes. It finished much sweeter than I had expected. This was a very balanced cup of espresso. Granted, this was maybe my sixth or seventh attempt due to dialing-in issues. It was well worth it, though. One thing worth noting is that if you don't have equipment capable of hitting Klatch's brew parameters, this blend will be worthless to you. You will be better off grabbing the Belle espresso or some other chocolatey blend. Fruitier blends tend to be less forgiving.

  • VERY VERY GOOD

    amitgoel76 | Sun, 09/04/2011 - 20:17

I think this lives up to its Name. It is very very good.

It may be relevant to note that I am using this with Latte's only. This Roast is very refined, subtle with Nutty flavors. It may be even better when enjoyed as Espresso or with lower milk content as opposed to Lattes. Generally, I have experienced that Latte's don't always do justice to subtle flavors. This is better but fairly close to the Lavazza Super Crema Beans (the Blue Bag). Just as a point of reference I have noticed that flavors such as the Peet's Italian Roast are able to jump out even in a Latte.

But again I really enjoyed this Coffee and it is making me consider trying Espresso to truly enjoy this coffee. I noticed that the Roast date on my package was following my order date so it is very fresh and shipping/delivery is very prompt too. Go for it am sure you will enjoy it.

  • DELICIOUS COFFEE

    bltia13 | Sat, 09/03/2011 - 00:37

Delicious coffee, but to rate it the "world's best" sets the bar really high. However, you have to try it for yourself (just to see what the "world's best" tastes like).

  • TASTY, BUT NOT NOT MY FAVORITE

    delaroast | Wed, 08/31/2011 - 09:57

I enjoyed this espresso, but it wasn't great. My first shot was a bit on the sour side. I checked the suggested temp and adjusted it up from 201 to 203 and it greatly improved the taste.

  • REALLY GOOD

    sscalese | Mon, 08/29/2011 - 08:21

I really enjoyed this espresso. It has an excellent flavor (better than Belle in my opinion). I would definitely recommend to friends and purchase again.

  • KLATCH WORLD'S BEST EXPRESSO

    Karrde | Tue, 07/26/2011 - 22:21

This blend was great, though I didn't technically use it for expresso (I use an Aeropress or a Phin for 99% of my coffee). Since it's summer I used it for iced mochas and it complimented the flavor of the white chocolate very well. However, I don't know that it's worth the extra markup compared to Klatch's other offerings.

  • ANOTHER WINNER FROM KLATCH

    jbviau | Wed, 07/20/2011 - 09:02

Chocolate, berries, and spice. All distinct, but the layers come together well. Don't be scared off by the "tart citrus" descriptor, as I don't find the shots I'm pulling with these beans excessively bright at all. Excellent espresso. The smell coming from the grinder makes me curious to try WBE brewed in a press as well.

    12345
  • ANOTHER WINNER!

    jill24295 | Fri, 07/01/2011 - 13:55

I have a white chocolate mocha most every morning for breakfast. It is one of my few real indulgences as I'm not a big pastry, doughnut, ice cream, cake, pie, etc. type of person. I'd much rather have this than most everything else for breakfast, so I want my coffee to be the best I can afford. This espresso was delicious! I love how quickly everything shipped too. Thank you!

  • GOOD, BUT NOT BEST, AT LEAST TO ME.

    leslieooienglee | Sun, 06/19/2011 - 19:01

I have tried this blend on a commercial machine as well as my home SBDU unit. It is good, but I have to admit to prefering the Belle, and in some ways, even their house espresso more. This blend almost has like an ashy finish to it, like smoking a cigar. Perhaps the World's Best win was done with some specific in bag aging process, which can not be duplicated at home.

    12345
  • VERY SMOOTH. CHOCOLATELY,

    Doug Pickett | Fri, 06/10/2011 - 01:48

Very smooth. Chocolately, citrusy espresso. Good as espresso by itself, didn't stand up particularly well to milk-based drinks. Don't know if it's the World's Best, but it definitely makes a solid cup. Doesn't hurt that I tried this using the 5 dollar off coupon either.

    12345
  • AMAZING ESPRESSO

    yeadon | Wed, 06/01/2011 - 11:14

This was my first purchase from roaste.com and now everything else I buy has to follow this amazing coffee! A fantastic brew in my DeLonghi Magnifica 3500. The crema is amazing, the shot is super smooth and has a cherry syrupy hint to it. I strongly recommend it!

    12345
  • QUITE GOOD

    apple2k | Fri, 05/27/2011 - 13:18

this was a lot easier to dose, grind and get the right shot out that Klatch's house blend. Vey good shots though they are a bit bright, by design is my impression. Will try their Belle blend next

  • KLATCH WBE

    NYC_javadog | Tue, 05/24/2011 - 19:56

This bean has excellent flavor and makes a very nice espresso, although I don't think it's worth spending the extra $ premium over Belle Espresso...

    bh_aragorn | Sun, 02/27/2011 - 07:35

A nice fruity smell emerged from the grinder this morning that made me really look forward to an awesome espresso. And I wasn't disappointed: I love the acidity in the cup, the citrus flavors that make it sparkle on the tongue...

  • WORLD'S BEST ESPRESSO

    ttanouye | Mon, 12/13/2010 - 20:29

    Klatch WBE
Really liked this blend - chocolate & citrus. Achieved great results from dodging the first few seconds.
I have ordered maybe 6 times from Klatch and have received roasted beans that were 6 days post roast, 80% of the time and rest of the time received beans that were 1 day post roast - live in So Cal.

    Parameters:
    20.5 grams
    95c
    25-30 sec
    1.75-2oz.

    Latte: 12oz

  • DELICIOUS!!

    billman1020 | Wed, 11/17/2010 - 02:38

I loved this coffee - nice balance of fruit and excitement makes it really great both straight and in small cappuccinos. I definitely found it best at a high temp and in my triple basket, somewhere around 20g give or take 1.

    12345
  • LIVES UP TO IT'S NAME!

    John | Sun, 10/31/2010 - 10:36

At least for me anyways. I've tried most of the espresso blends from the well known U.S. roasters & this is definitely my favorite to date. Citrus, chocolate & an intensely sweet/spicy finish. What more could you ask for? Excellent straight shots but still comes through nicely in milk drinks. If it wasn't so expensive it would be perfect. Next order I'll go for the 5lb bag to keep the cost down & vac bag/freeze in 3-4 day portions.

20-21g doses in Synesso triple basket
    203*F
Timing varies depending on length of P/I but most shots were closer to Ristretto then Normale.

    12345
  • GOOD, BUT I LIKE BELLE BETTER

    mnelms | Tue, 10/26/2010 - 10:43

Somewhat herder to work with than Belle. Brighter flavors. Maybe in the right hands this would be better, but not in my hands. Pulling with Elektra A3 and Compak K10.

  • VERY NICE

    cgs60r7 | Mon, 10/11/2010 - 14:20

  • OUTSTANDING

    Jen | Mon, 10/04/2010 - 12:33

I was a bit skeptical (mostly of my own skills) but this blend is truly outstanding. My routine with it would be to pull one shot to drink and then prepare another for a 5 oz cappa. My taste buds may be different, but IMO the cappa really brought out the chocolate tones. Delicious!

    12345
  • DELICIOUS

    valifrank | Tue, 09/28/2010 - 00:10

This is delicious both on its own and in cappucinos, as you might expect from the moniker. Expensive, but I'll probably get more.

  • THE BEST COFFEE FOR ME

    Tzahi Fridman | Thu, 09/09/2010 - 15:49

This is the best coffee I had so far. I use it mostly for Cappuccino. First, its brewing is very consistent every time, producing great tiger-skinned shots. Then having it both for single or double cappuccino is the greatest for me. It has some punchy taste beyond a well-balanced one, something between chocolaty and fruity, which gives the cappuccino a great unique and interesting taste.
    Well done Klatch!

  • GOOD ESPRESSO BUT EXPENSIVE

    andytblood | Mon, 08/02/2010 - 18:50

It was a good roast but expensive. It didn't blow my socks off that much. I prefer PT's Le Bella Vita which they don't sell on this site yet? I am plugging for it because it is my favorite so far.

    12345
  • COMPLEX ESPRESSO

    penrod_25 | Fri, 07/23/2010 - 23:07

WBE was a very complex espresso with chocolate spice and fruit. With Klatch sweet 16 I was able to band out shot after fantastic shot so I was excited to try WBE, however I could never really get a consistent pull with it, and always felt I was missing something. With a very small tweak in brew parameters the shot went from very choclaty and spicy to very fruity.

It seemed adding water for a shot 5oz americano really helped with the consistency, and was much more plesant to my palate, but still a good espresso

  • KLATCH WORLD'S BEST ESPRESSO

    homerepairbear | Sun, 07/11/2010 - 21:21

I can see why this was voted best espresso. It walks the fine line of a darker roast but maintains
all the goodness of the beans. I'm a Northern Italian roast fan usually, but this was a nice change.
More of a morning coffee for me than an after dinner coffee. I pour mostly lattes and these beans
stand up to milk very well. Takes on a little different character even. I could taste the citrus and
    berries more with milk.
I purchased 2 pounds, and it lasts a month if I freeze half upon arrival. These beans have held up
    nicely.
Great crema, nice hit of chocolate, and a mixed finished with citrus and cherries, then a medium-
dark roasted coffee last note. Championship worthy.

  • DON'T MISS THIS

    undotcoms-shop | Mon, 07/05/2010 - 10:27

Don't get me wrong, I like to explore and try new things. But when I find something I really like, I latch on to it and go out of my way to avoid the unpleasant disappointment of trying something new that couldn't live up to expectations.

Rest assured if you're the reluctant one to change, WBC is worth the anxiety. I'd summarize my review by emphasizing three points - two from other reviewers and one from the owner.

    1) If you get it right, it could absolutely be your "world's best espresso" too. I got tremendously lucky and my very first shot was incredible. My wife and I raved while enjoying the single best lattes we had ever experienced.

    2) There is a narrow range in brewing variables to achieve perfection. I'm an above average barista and was only able to hit the magical combination once -- still, the other shots left us with very nice drinks.

    3) Ristretto is the way to go on this.

I'm rating this a five-bean coffee - because it is in the hands of an expert barista, but those of us still learning will typically brew "fours"

  • ROASTERS NOTES

    Klatch Coffee | Thu, 06/24/2010 - 14:42

Thanks to all who have tried and enjoyed our coffee. For those who commented on Worlds Best Espresso being a marketing claim, let me clarify. Klatch WBC was AWARDED Best Espresso at the World Championships in Tokyo over expresso from 40+ other countries. It is Brighter with a bit more citrus and fruit than others. For those who prefer the Vita or Stumptown, try our Belle Espresso (94 points from Coffee Review) or House Espresso (more chocolate). Both are a bit darker than the WBC (World Barista Championship) and more forgiving. The WBC takes a good barista and we are lucky enough to have a pretty good one. Thanks for reading. Feel Free to contact me directly with any questions to mike@klatchroasting.com
