REVIEWS & COMMENTS

  • FINICKY, BUT GOOD.

As stated - more sensitive to brew temp/pour times than others blends. BUT - when you hit it right, the stuff absolutely rocks! Both Klatch Belle and FTO House have a broader sweet spot and are more forgiving when extracting, but neither are as good to me as this blend WHEN dialed in right. If I could get consistent pours, I would give it 5 stars. If you have a PID machine - you will probably be very pleased. Regardless, I always keep both this and FTO House on hand for everyday use. Even if you don't hit it perfect, it still provides a very pleasing shot - just not extraordinary.

  • ONE OF MY FAVORITES!

    jmgarner01 | Mon, 04/11/2011 - 09:10

Klatch is one of the best specialty roasters out there and their house espresso blend certainly reflects this. Excellent as both espresso and in milk drinks.

  • GOOD, BUT...

    Jen | Sun, 11/21/2010 - 18:39

I'm spoiled by Klatch Belle and this just wasn't as good, in my opinion. But to be fair, I spent most of my bag dialing in my new grinder so I will definitely give this another shot soon.

  • VERY TASY BUT..

    rotwang | Thu, 09/16/2010 - 14:46

...suffered a bit in comparison to Klatch's Belle blend. I enjoyed this in cappuccino, but Belle made much better straight shots. It was easy to pull— great crema every time. I would order again for a change of pace or to save a little cash, but I'll mostly be sticking to Belle from Klatch.

  • KLATCH HOUSE ESPRESSO

  • NOT IMPRESSED

    jrbruin | Thu, 08/05/2010 - 13:44

Perhaps I should have opted for the more popular Klatch offering. The house espresso came to me three days after roast, but was pulling like stale beans from the get go. 10 seconds and a half oz. into the shot it'd go blonde. Tried different grind settings, temperatures, tamping techniques etc, but couldn't pull a decent shot. Upped the dose to 18-18.5g from my usual 17g and it was just tolerable when pulled very short. Maybe I got a bad batch or maybe my technique is bad, but I've since switched back to my go to bean and I'm getting amazing shots once again.

  • GOOD EVERYDAY ESPRESSO

    leslieooienglee | Thu, 06/10/2010 - 22:22

This is a nice blend for everyday espresso. Not as indulgent or complex as Belle, but it's more affordable. Takes a minimum of a week of rest before coming alive though.

  • HOUSE IS A NICE OPTION

    speedstar | Tue, 06/01/2010 - 15:51

I sometimes go with this one as a change of pace over my normal Klatch Belle. It is very forgiving and seems to do best for me at 18-19g in Synesso double basket, 201f, 1.75 oz in 30 seconds. Maybe a little better straight instead of milk drinks.

  • NO NONSENSE ESPRESSO

    J_Premium | Mon, 05/31/2010 - 19:36

Rock solid espresso blend with a hint of chocolate.
Straight crema flowing shots, to the point and easy to pull.

Yes I would get it again.

  • A GREAT DAILY GRIND

    cleebeauregard | Sun, 05/30/2010 - 17:15

Overall, Klatch coffees are consistently very good to excellent. Like PT, Terroir, and Paradise roasters, they offer a broad selection of both blends and single origin coffees that meet aficionado standards.

House Espresso is smooth, never bitter, with medium body, light fruit and winy overtones. Best enjoyed as straight espresso, its subtleties seemed lost with milk.
