Guatemala Genuine Antigua Covadonga Coffee is being brought back by Klatch. Antigua, a verdant colonial region of Guatemala, is nestled in central highlands among three volcanoes. La Antigua coffee is a delectable treasure from the dedicated farmers of Finca Covadonga, who possess a vast knowledge and passion for coffee growing.

A great micro-lot coffee, Genuine Antigua has a sweet floral, watermelon, and honey scent on the nose, that carries into the cup with added notes of citrus and caramel, with cherry hints. The creamy vanilla and honey body are followed by a sweet lingering jubilee of flavors in the aftertaste.

"A sweetly bright yet balanced cup. The acidity is delicate yet penetrating, the mouthfeel light, smooth and silky. Orange, honey, flowers and a hint of milk chocolate in both aroma and cup."

  • TOO LEMONY

    sabina | Sat, 02/04/2012 - 21:43

I know this is so personal. I felt this coffee was a little too lemony (sour?) for me.

Excellent coffee. Citrus flavors make this a unique coffee blend.

  • GOOD COFFEE

    hoonchul | Sat, 12/17/2011 - 19:52

First I get bold chocolaty, nutty flavor with tiny bit of acidity followed by clean subtle sweet flavor of fruit. Pretty good.

  • PREPARED POUR-OVER STYLE.

    bdcline | Mon, 11/07/2011 - 22:05

Prepared pour-over style. Perhaps too subtle for my tastes, but this Guat fell a little flat for me. Decent cup, but nothing special--and I have come to expect special from Klatch!

  • FUN GRAPEFRUITY DITRUSY-NESS

    Scott Lush | Sat, 10/01/2011 - 07:03

I got a very pleasant grapefruity and citrusyness out of my brewing of this Guatemala Antigua. There was a honey sweetness and vanilla touch to it too. I like that it was an interreting unique treat.

  • VERY GOOD! (KLATCH GUATEMALA GENUINE ANTIGUA

    pgreene | Fri, 07/15/2011 - 08:51

I'm afraid my description my not get this across. The most striking thing is the initial taste which seems to me more aromatic than flavor in the mouth, similar to what I imagine it's like to drink brandy (?) Similarly the sweetness isn't striking with the first taste but is blended in the subsequent flavor - maybe it's just very well balanced (?) In any case, it's delicious coffee, very rich and flavorful but also mild at the start. A mix of fruit in the long lasting aftertaste.

  • WHAT CAN I SAY, ITS FROM KLATCH

    kopiMonk | Sun, 07/03/2011 - 03:40

Roasted slightly darker than their coffees but produces a smooth lingering finish.

This one got lots of love from Coffee Review...but that was like 6 months ago.

I've been getting pineapple, cherry, and dark chocolate. Very nice variation on the classic profile.
