El Salvador Las Mercedes Pepinal 1 is a complete coffee with multi-dimensions. Not only does it show a lively acidity, round body and a passionate fruity flavor, but it is also creamy with allusions of cherry, plum, peach, honey and chocolate.

Mike comments: "During my visit to El Salvador I had the opportunity to visit Las Mercedes - a beautiful farm with dedicated owners who care for the environment, their workers, their community, and seek to provide great coffee. While there, I was able to cup many lots including Pepinal 1, the Micro Lot that won the 2006 El Salvador Cup of Excellence auction with a record 94 points."

REVIEWS & COMMENTS

  • GREAT COFFEE

    dlcarter | Sun, 10/03/2010 - 21:58

I enjoyed the mild robust flavor and aroma of this coffee.
The coffee was low acidity which was easy on my stomach so did not have any problems after drinking a few cups before breakfast.

  • I DID NOT MUCH CARE FOR THIS

    aknight165 | Wed, 09/01/2010 - 12:35

I did not much care for this coffee. If ground too coarse it had an fungal taste to it. I found it very difficult to dial in this coffee. There was a fine line between too coarse with the fungal taste and too fine with an acidic over extracted taste. I never found that happy mid point where the best coffee comes from.

This coffee was frustrating because I trust Klatch and kept trying to find this coffee's sweet spot since I was convinced it was me and not the coffee, but I was never able to find it. I won't be ordering this one again.
