Costa Rica Helsar de Zarcero Organic Coffee, a perfectly balanced coffee, expresses a crisp, complex fruit acidity. It produces a sweet clean cup with a creamy, juicy mouthfeel. While hot, caramel toffee notes prevail, until cooling, when sweet floral and citrus notes arise, leading to a dark chocolate finish. All in all, Costa Rica Helsar is a complete and delicate coffee.

Señor Pérez Barrantes, with the support of his wife and sons and with over thirty years of experience in the western Costa Rican coffee business, produces an efficiently and painstakingly-grown full-washed organic coffee. The Santa Lucia farm uses shade-grown processes with the micro-lots, growing fruit trees, native trees, and banana trees among the coffee plants.

Because of Barrantes’ eco-smart coffee-growing processes, Helsar took third place in Costa Rica’s 2007 Cup of Excellence and earned a score of 91.37 points from an International Jury.
