Papua New Guinea Tribal Aromas Organic is grown by the members of Tribal Aromas, a collective of small grower groups in the Chimbu Province, in the Eastern Highlands - a very remote region. The region is so remote it’s almost entirely road-less, so the coffee must be taken out by airplane at a cost to the farmers of about fifty cents per pound. The coffee, cultivated on small clusters of plots, ranging from .5 to 1 hectare per farmer, is the only source of cash income for the growers. Any additonal land is used to grow food crops for family consumption. All coffee is shade-grown and certified by Australia Certified Organic, accredited by USDA and IFOAM.

Cupping Notes:

Papua New Guinea Tribal Aromas Organic  expresses maple syrup and hints of berry in the acidity. Though it stands alone well, it could offer medium-to-high notes in a blend.
