An excellent, first-growth light roasted coffee: syrupy rich coffee flavor, deep chocolate and caramel flavor, with hints of mint, apricots for some tasters. It’s super great and very popular. It includes coffees from North Africa, Sumatra, and Brazil.

In the densely-bodied cup are buttery, chocolaty and stone fruit overtones typical of the finest African coffee. It’s acidity is low and it has a long, wet finish which actually improves as the coffee cools. It’s great black or with a little cream. Our professional tasters love the smoothness.

  • W/O LIGHT THERE IS NO DARKNESS

Well if Nostromo is the journey into the heart of darkness then this is what you receive when you get to the otherside. I don't mean to indicate that this is one of those sour face coffees that only 'coffee people' like it isn't. This is what everyone wished Starbucks 'blonde' roasts would taste like. Like all Deep Cello coffees exceptionally well rounded with what appears to be a sweet Brazil base in the blend that keeps the other acidic notes in the coffee in check. I would say this is a nice bite that is a good way to start the morning that perhaps some of those dark roasts just can compare with. Oh and did I mention it was nice to have the bag overfilled a little. =D

  • LITTLE TOO FRUITY AND BRIGHT

    hoonchul | Fri, 04/27/2012 - 00:29

Little too fruity and bright for my taste but I expected that from reading the description. I still very much enjoyed it and would order again if I want to mix it up a bit.

  • VERY NICE!

This is a fairly light roast but it's deceiving. You might expect it to be overly acidic due to light roast, but it's not! In espresso, it's very well balanced and very fruity. It's probably a bit brighter but it's not too bad at all! One problem I had, I am probably the only one, is that it requires much torque and strength on my hand grinder to grind it. Otherwise, it's really excellent for a light roast!

  • VERY GOOD

    jbviau | Mon, 01/09/2012 - 17:03

Upgraded this to 5 cups. I agree it's a low-acidity light roast. Very flavorful with better body than expected and more sweetness than I'd remembered (trying this for the second time). I see why it's Deep Cello's #1 seller!
