LOVE HAZELNUT!
deborahedwards714 | Tue, 01/17/2012 - 11:30Great tasting coffee. Love hazelnut!
LIGHT ROAST, LITTLE FLAVOR
mrslindseyolson | Mon, 11/07/2011 - 23:35This coffee was similar to the Dean's Beans Mud Pie blend that I tried. The roast is very mild and the flavor is pretty faint. There is a hint of hazelnut, but it is a very different flavor from a traditional hazelnut coffee. The added flavor is stronger than that in the Mud Pie, but was still very faint. I don't hate this blend, but definitely not one of my favorites...
HAZELNUT DREAM
vi_ky_u | Mon, 10/03/2011 - 21:56Absolutely one of my favorite from Dean's Beans, but I have not drunk this coffee by itself yet. I'd always mix in with other darker coffees since I figured most flavored coffees are too mild for my taste. Very flavorful and addicting, the smell always make my day!
WONDERFUL COFFEE
rfrashuer | Sat, 10/01/2011 - 12:37Totally surprising, this coffee is better than I expected , I am a happy customer, thank you very kindly , in the near future I do plan on trying other coffee flavors .
VERY NICE
zimm25 | Sat, 09/03/2011 - 12:01Lots of flavor! I loved this coffee and have repurchased twice. It's a light to medium roast, but has a robust flavor. When I was waiting for my second delivery, I went out and purchased my old favorite and was really surprised at how thin it tasted compared to this. If you like smooth, flavored coffee with some depth, this is it.
NOT WHAT I HOPED IT WOULD BE
mrs.schrody | Sun, 07/31/2011 - 04:42This coffee smells incredible! Rich & sweet, almost a marzipan like scent - so I was really disappointed when I ground the beans & made a cup. The beans they use for this roast are too acidic for my taste & they didn't blend well with the added flavor at all. I had to use more sugar & half n half than I normally do to get the smooth creamy cup of coffee wanted. It was like the flavoring was fighting with the flavor of the coffee beans. Maybe this would taste better from a drip machine (I have a press).
The vanilla hazelnut flavor also fades rapidly after the beans are ground. I like to grind enough coffee to last 3 or 4 days & I don't expect the last cup to taste just like the first, but even in a tightly sealed opaque glass jar the flavoring dissipated enough for it to become barely noticeable. I could still smell the rich sweet scent, I just wasn't really tasting it over the acidity of the coffee. Add the fact that the beans come in a wax lined paper bag that is useless for storing them for more than a week, & I won't be ordering these again. It's not bad coffee, it's just not that good.
***EDIT**
Bumping this review up to 3 stars because the 2nd bag was WAY better than the first (which is odd since I would think both bags were from the same batch). It was smoother (although still acidic) & the flavor didn't dissipate in a couple of days after I ground the beans.
