The“Reserva Lot” from Finca Las Delicias is the result of forward vision, tireless work and careful husbandry of the land by the Miguel Menendez family in northwest El Salvador to produce a delicately fruited coffee that is simply beyond compare.

The Reserva Lot is specially selected each year by the Menendez family from all of their six farms. The crops from each farm are blind cupped and the best lot is premiered as the Reserva for the year.

Nestled in rich volcanic soil on the side of a mountain at commanding heights of over 5700 feet, Finca (“farm”) Las Delicias Reserva Lot is comprised of 100% Bourbon coffee beans, an heirloom varietal known for its delicate acidity and complex flavors. Every bean is picked by hand at the absolute peak of ripeness. Next, the coffees are meticulously separated by hand in another quality-control pass to ensure absolute uniformity. Finally, the beans are spread on raised mesh beds to dry evenly and smoothly in the El Salvador sun until they are ready to be sent to The Brown Coffee Company. The resulting cup is one with low-toned acidity (plum, raisin, dried papaya) with honey and Merlot notes appearing as it cools. Coffee is the fruit of a tropical tree and Las Delicias Reserva is true to that fruit-like sweetness.

This is the same lot that was submitted to the 2011 El Salvador Cup Of Excellence jury. The coffee placed 7th out of 42 coffees submitted back in July. We are extremely proud to offer this gem of a coffee for you.
