  • LA PAVNOI

I have used a pavoni 16-cup to make espresso at work now for 2 years. The machine is small, quiet, and capable of making great espresso. It is a great choice for me at the office. Focusing on thermal control of the machine is necessary to make consistent shots. I have a temperature stip on the group head to help with this, and have also found that controlling where in the heating cycle the machine is also helps with consistency ( this is not too difficult because the machine cycles regularly, and opening the steam valve for a few seconds is normally enough to turn the element on). The drip tray is a little small so I use a bowl to catch waste water and drips. Advantages: Fast heat up small footprint quiet striking design Disadvantages Thermal control (can only make 1-2 espressos at a time) Large p-stat deadband (seems to impact consistency) small drip tray

Works fine, but I don't really like the look as much as some of the more expensive kettles, the finish is not as nice as my kalita kettle, and the pour spout is a little thicker resulting in less precision in the pour than the kalita

  • BALANCED CUP

Fruited notes are very present but not overpowering, making this a nice cup to introduce Ethiopian coffees to people new to them.

easy to keep clean, external heater prevents worry about empty boiler with power on. steam wand is lousy, and the temperature swing during the shot can be large. For the price, still hard to find a better espresso machine

  • HARD TO MASTER BUT GREAT COFFEE

I have a ponte vecchio lusso and wanted to try a manual lever, between temp control and the manual lever, the pavoni was much harder to master. With practice it is capable of great coffee. I found a temperature strip on the group to be great help.
